Our Aurum trio of accessories features 3 designs: a tassel necklace made of Lumina tied with Seduce, a braided Lumina necklace and the last, a Lumina medallion necklace.

SIZE

Necklace – Approximately 28” long (including ring at center)

Tassel – Approximately 15” long (including cord)

Medallion – Approximately 3” across

 

MATERIALS

For Necklace:  1 hank BERROCO LUMINA (50 grs), #1620 Gold Coast

One 2 1/4” diameter goldtone ring

For Tassel:  1 hank BERROCO LUMINA (50 grs), #1620 Gold Coast

Small amount BERROCO SEDUCE (50 grs), #4412 Anthracite

Crochet hook, size 4.50 mm (G)

One piece of cardboard 4 1/2” long

For Medallion:  1 Hank BERROCO LUMINA (50 grs), #1620 Gold Coast

1 Set (4) double pointed knitting needles (dpn), size 7 (4.50 mm)

Crochet hook, size 4.00 mm (F)

Tapestry needle

60” Brown cording

One 2 3/4” diameter thin bangle bracelet or metal ring

 

NECKLACE

Open out hank of yarn and cut at one point leaving loose strands.  With all strands together, fold in half.  Insert loop formed by fold through ring, then pull loose ends through loop to secure to ring.  Separate strands into 6 equal sections.  Braid the first 3 sections tog for 12”, then knot ends.  Repeat with the second 3 sections.  Trim ends leaving 3” for tassels.

 

TASSEL

Cut Wrap Lumina multiple times around a piece of cardboard 4 1/2” long.  Cut lower end to free wrapped strands.  Tie strands at center with a 6” long piece of Seduce.  Cut three 8” long strands of Seduce.  Wrap strands of Seduce around tassel from the top down at 1/2” intervals and secure.  With crochet hook and 2 strands of Seduce, make a chain 13” long or desired length.  Fasten off.  Tie one end of chain to top of tassel.  Knot the other end of chain.

 

MEDALLION

With dpn’s cast on 36 sts.  Join, being careful not to twist sts.  Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up.  Divide sts evenly onto 3 dpn’s (12 sts on each needle).

Rnd 1:   Purl.

Rnd 2:  Knit.

Rnd 3:  * Yo, k2 tog, rep from * around.

Rnd 4:  Knit.

Rnd 5:  Purl.

Rnd 6:  * K2 tog, rep from * around – 18 sts.

Rnd 7:  Purl.

Rnd 8:  * K2 tog, rep from * around – 9 sts.

Rnd 9:  Purl.

Rnd 10:  (K2 tog) 4 times, k1 – 5 sts.  Break off yarn leaving an 8” long end.  Thread end into tapestry needle and draw through all sts on needles.  Pull up tightly and secure.  Fasten off.

 

FINISHING

Hold medallion in center of bracelet with RS facing you.  * With crochet hook, work 1 sc in first yo space of Rnd 3 and around bracelet.  Work 2 sc’s around bracelet.  Rep from * around until all yo’s have been connected to bracelet.  Work 2 sc’s around bracelet.  Join with a sl st in first sc.  Fasten off.  Twist cord slightly and tie at each end.  Fold twisted cord in half and insert loop formed by fold through any yo of Rnd 3 on Medallion.  Pull ends of cord through loop and tighten.  Ends should be tied at back of neck to fasten.
