MATERIALS
1 Hank each BERROCO INCA GOLD (50 grs), #6423 Granate (A) and #6409 Purpura (B)
1 Set (4) double pointed knitting needles (dpn), size 7 (4.50 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
1 St marker
Tapestry needle

STITCH GLOSSARY
Yf: Bring yarn under needle to front of work

Yb: Bring yarn over needle to back of work

HAT

With dpn’s, using A, cast on 88 sts.  Divide sts onto 3 dpn’s and join, being careful not to twist sts.  Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up.

Rnds 1 – 3:  * K2, p2, rep from * around.

Rnd 4:  K2, M1k, k to last 2 sts, M1k, k2 – 90 sts.

Rnd 5:  Knit.  Join B.

Rnd 6:  With B, * k5, yf, sl 1 purlwise, yb, rep from * around.

Rnds 7 – 11:  With B, * k5, yo, sl next st and all previous yo’s purlwise, yb, rep from * around.  Note:  This results with a yo directly on top of each sl st.

Rnd 12:  With A, k all sts, knitting all yo’s together with corresponding slipped sts.

Rnd 13:  With A, knit.  Rep Rnds 6 – 13 six times more, end with Rnd 13.

Rnd 62:  With B, * k1, sl 1 k2 tog, psso, k1, yf, slip next st purlwise, yb, rep from * around – 60 sts.

Rnds 63 – 65:  With B, * k3, yf, slip next st and all previous yo’s purlwise, yb, rep from * around.

Rnds 66 and 67:  Rep Rnds 12 and 13.

Rnd 68:  With B, * k3, yf, slip next st purlwise, yb, rep from * around.

Rnds 69 – 73:  Rep Rnds 63 – 67.

Rnd 74:  With B, * sl 1, k2 tog, psso, yf, sl next st purlwise, yb, re from * around – 30 sts.

Rnd 75:  With B, * K1, yf, sl next st and all previous yo’s purlwise, yb, rep from * around.

Rnds 76 and 77:  Rep Rnds 12 and 13.

Rnd 78:  With B, * k1, yf, sl next st purlwise, yb, rep from * around.  Fasten off B.

Rnds 79 – 81:  Rep Rnds 75 – 77.

Rnd 82:  With A, * K2 tog, rep from * around – 15 sts.

Rnd 83:  With A, k3 tog, * k2 tog, rep from * around – 7 sts.  Break off yarn leaving a 12” long tail.  Thread tail into tapestry needle and draw through all sts on needles.  Pull up tightly and secure.  Fasten off.
