FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust - 40(44-48-52)”.
Length - 25(25-1/2-26-26-1/2)”.

MATERIALS
BERROCO SENSUWOOL® (50 grs), 12(13-13-14) balls #6371 Evergreen (MC), 1 ball #6534 Beaujolais (A), 1 ball #6531 Oregano (B), 1 ball #6422 Plum (C) and 2 balls #6533 Provence Green (D).
Straight knitting needles, size 8 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
24" length circular knitting needle, size 6.
3 St Markers.

GAUGE
5 sts = 1"; 7 rows = 1" in Pat St.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

PAT ST
Row 1 (RS):
* K 1, (p 1, k 1) twice, k 5, rep from * across, end k 1, (p 1, k 1) twice.
Row 2: * P 1, (k 1, p 1) twice, p 5, rep from * across, end p 1, (k 1, p 1) twice.
Row 3: * P 1, (k 1, p 1) twice, k 5, rep from * across, end p 1, (k 1, p 1) twice.
Row 4: * K 1, (p 1, k 1) twice, p 5, rep from * across, end k 1, (p 1, k 1) twice.
Rep these 4 rows for Pat St.

STRIPE PAT
Working in Pat St, work colors as follows:
5 rows A; 5 rows B; 5 rows C;;7 rows D; 2 rows MC; 1 row A; 2 rows MC; 7 rows D; 5 rows C; 5 rows B; 5 rows A; 1 row MC.
These 50 rows form Stripe Pat.

BACK
With size 8 straight needles, using MC, cast on 101(111-121-131) sts. Keeping 3 sts at each edge in St st, work even in Pat St until piece measures 9" from beg, end on WS. Work 50 rows of Stripe Pat, end on WS. Piece should measure 16" from beg.
Shape Armholes: Working with MC, bind off 5 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, bind off 2(2-4-5) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then dec 1 st each side every other row 3(3-4-5) times - 81(91-95-101) sts. Work even in Pat St with MC until armholes measure 8(8-1/2-9-9-1/2)”, end on WS.
Shape Shoulders and Neck: Bind off 9(10-11-12) sts, work until there are 23(27-27-29) sts on RH needle, join another ball of MC and bind off center 17(17-19-19) sts for neck, work to end. Working both sides at once, bind off 9(10-11-12) sts at beg of the next row, then bind off 8(10-10-11) sts at beg of the next 4 rows. AT THE SAME TIME, bind off 4 sts at each neck edge once, then bind off 3 sts once.

FRONT
Work same as for back until armhole shaping has been completed and armholes measure 1(1-1/2-2-2-1/2)”, end on WS.
Shape V-Neck: Work 40(45-47-50) sts, join another ball of MC and bind off center st, work to end. Working both sides at once, work 1 row even. Dec 1 st at each neck edge on next row, then every RS row 4(4-6-6) times more, then every 4th row 10(10-9-9) times - 25(30-31-34) sts each side. When armholes measure 8(8-1/2-9-9-1/2)”, end on WS. Shape shoulders same as for back.

SLEEVES
With size 8 straight needles, using MC, cast on 43(45-45-47) sts. Keeping 4(0-0-1) sts each edge in St st, work even in Pat St for 4 rows, end on WS. Inc 1 st each side on next row, then every 4th row 0(0-3-6) times, then every 6th row 5(9-15-13) times, then every 8th row 9(6-0-0) times, working incs into Pat St as sts become available - 73(77-83-87) sts. AT THE SAME TIME, when sleeve measures 9" from beg, end on WS. Work 50 rows of Stripe Pat, continuing to inc as before.
Shape Cap: With MC, bind off 5 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, bind off 2(2-4-5) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then dec 1 st each side every RS row 18(20-21-21) times, then every 4th row 1(1-1-2) times. Bind off remaining 21 sts.

FINISHING
Steam pieces (See instructions on page 1). Sew shoulder seams.
Neckband: With RS facing, using MC and circular needle, beg at left shoulder seam, pick up and k 36 sts along left front neck edge, place marker, pick up and k 1 st in bound-off center st, place marker, pick up and k 36 sts along right front neck edge, pick up and k 38(38-40-40) sts across back neck edge - 111(111-113-113) sts. Mark for beg of round and carry marker up. Next Round: Work in k 1, p 1 ribbing to 2 sts before first marker, SSK, k 1, SKP, work in k 1, p 1 ribbing to end. Rep this row until neckband measures 3/4”. Bind off all sts in ribbing. Sew in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams.
