SIZE

One size fits all.

MATERIALS
BERROCO SENSUWOOL® (50 grs) 12 balls #6363 Midnight (A).
BERROCO GLACE (50 grs) 15 hanks #2363 Midnight (B).
Straight knitting needles, sizes 6 and 8 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
Crochet hook size 3.00 mm (E).

GAUGE
5 sts = 1"; 7 rows = 1" in St st with larger needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust (closed) - 70".
Length - 30".

RIB PAT (multiple of 7 sts plus 2)
Row 1 (RS):
P 2, * k 5, p 2; rep from * to end.
Row 2: K the knit sts and p the purl sts.
Rep row 2 for k 5, p 2 rib.

LEFT DIAGONAL (multiple of 21 sts)
Work in St st as follows:
Row 1 (RS): (21 A, 21 B) twice.
Row 2 and all WS rows: Purl, matching colors.
Row 3: 1B, 21 A, 21 B, 21 A, 20 B.
Row 5: 2 B, 21 A, 21 B, 21 A, 19 B.
Row 7: 3 B, 21 A, 21 B, 21 A, 18 B.
Continue in this way to shift colors to the left by one st every RS row for left diagonal.

RIGHT DIAGONAL (multiple of 21 sts)
Work in St st as follows:
Row 1 (RS): (21 A, 21 B) twice.
Row 2 and all WS rows: Purl, matching colors.
Row 3: 20 A, 21 B, 21 A, 21 B, 1 A.
Row 5: 19A, 21B, 21A, 21B, 2A.
Row 7: 18A, 21B, 21A, 21B, 3A.
Continue in this way to shift colors to the right by one st every RS row for right diagonal.

BACK
With smaller needles and B, cast on 211 sts. Work in rib pat as follows:
Next Row (RS): K 1, p 1, k 1 (3 edge sts for slit), * p 2, k 5; rep from *, end p 2, k 1, p 1, k 1 (3 edge sts for slit).
Next Row (WS) K 2, p 1, continue rib pat to last 3 sts, p 1, k 2. Continue in pat as established for 1 row more. Change to A and continue rib pat and 3 edge sts each side, until piece measures 2" from beg, end on RS. Change to larger needles and P next row on WS, dec 28 sts evenly across (DO NOT work decs on 3 edge sts each side) – 183 sts.
Note: Continue 3 edge sts each side until piece measures 9" from beg, then work these 3 sts in St st. Continue in St st and stripes as follows: * 28 rows (or 4") B, 28 rows (or 4") A; rep from * until piece measures 30" from beg, end with 28 rows (or 4") B. Bind off all sts with B.

LEFT FRONT
With smaller needles and B, cast on 99 sts. Work in rib pat as follows:
Next Row (RS): K 1, p 1, k 1 (edge sts for slit), * p 2, k 5; rep from * to last 3 sts, k 1, p 1, k 1 (front edge).
Next Row (WS) K 2, p 1 (front edge), work rib to last 3 sts, p 1, k 2. Change to A and continue rib and 3 front edge sts and 3 side slit edge sts as established until piece measures 2" from beg, end on RS. Change to larger needles and keeping 3 edge sts each side in pat, p remaining sts, dec 12 sts evenly across – 87 sts.
Note: Continue 3 edge sts for side slit until piece measures 9" from beg, then work these 3 sts in St st . Continue 3 front edge sts with A to end of piece. Continue 3 edge sts and work remaining sts in St st and left diagonal until piece measures 30" from beg. Bind off all sts, matching colors.

RIGHT FRONT
Work to correspond to left front, but work right diagonal.

SLEEVES
With smaller needles and B, cast on 69 sts. Work in rib pat as follows: K 2, * p 2, k 5; rep from *, end p 2, k 2. Continue in pat as established for 1 row more. Change to A and continue rib until piece measures 2" from beg, end on RS. Change to larger needles and P next row on WS, dec 9 sts evenly across – 60 sts. Continue in St st and stripes as follows: *12 rows (or 1-3/4”) B, 12 rows (or 1-3/4”) A; rep from * once more, then continue with B to end of sleeve. AT THE SAME TIME, inc 1 st each side every 2nd row 8 times, every 4th row 10 times — 96 sts. Work even until piece measures 11" from beg. Bind off all sts with B.

FINISHING
Steam pieces. Sew fronts to back at shoulders, leaving center 3" of back free for neck. Place markers 9-1/2” down from shoulder seams on front and back for armholes. Sew top of sleeves between markers. Sew sleeve seams. Beg at 9" from lower edge (slit), sew side seams. With RS facing, using crochet hook and A, work backwards sc (from left to right) along fronts and back neck.
