Rows 1-4: With A, knit.
Row 5 (RS): With B, (k3, k2tog, k2, k2tog) 11 times, k to end.
Rows 6-12: With B, work in St st (k on RS, p on WS).
Row 13: With A, (k3, inc 1 st in next st, k2, inc 1 st in next st) 11 times, k to end.
Rows 14-16: With A, knit.
Rows 17-20: With C, knit.
Rows 21-28: With C, work in St st.
Rows 29-32: With C, knit.
Rows 33-36: With D, knit.

X-LARGE
Rows 1-4: With A, knit.
Row 5 (RS): With B, (k 3, k 2tog, k 2, k 2tog) 11 times, k to end.
Rows 6-14: With B, work in St st (k on RS, p on WS).
Row 15: With A, (k 3, inc 1 st in next st, k 2, inc 1 st in next st) 11 times, k to end.
Rows 16-18: With A, knit.
Rows 19-22: With C, knit.
Rows 23-30: With C, work in St st.
Rows 31-34: With C, knit.
Rows 35-38: With D, knit.
Rows 39-48: With E, work in St st.

BACK
Note: Back and Fronts of this garment are worked side to side.
With size 8 needles and E(D-D), cast on 101(104-106) sts loosely for side seam. Beg with row 41(33-35), work in Stripe Pat for 46(54-60) rows.
Shape Neck: Next Row (RS): Dec 1 st (neck edge), work to end. Continue to dec 1 st at neck edge every other row 4 times more–96(99-101) sts. Work even in Stripe Pat until there are 90(98-106) rows from beg. Inc 1 st at neck edge on next row, then every other row 4 times more – 101(104-106) sts. Work even in Stripe Pat until there are 144(160-174) rows from beg, end with row 40(48-52). Piece measures approx 20-1/2"(22-1/2"-24-1/2")” from beg. Bind off loosely with E(D-D).

RIGHT FRONT
With size 8 needles and E(D-D), cast on 101(104-106) sts loosely for side seam. Work Stripe Pat same as back, AND when there are 47(55-61) rows from beg, work as follows:
Shape Neck: Next Row (WS): Bind off 4 sts (neck edge), work to end. Continue to bind off from neck edge 2 sts twice, dec 1 st every other row 4 times. Work even on remaining 89(92-94) sts until there are 68(76-84) rows from beg, end with 8 rows B - 70(72-73) sts. Piece should measure 9-3/4(10-3/4-11-3/4)” from beg.
Buttonhole Band: Next Row (RS): With A, work inc rows same as row 13 of stripe pat for sizes Small and Medium Large and Row 15 of Stripe Pat for X Large– 89(92-94) sts. K 3 rows.
Buttonhole Row (RS): K9(8-9), k 2 tog, yo, [k 13(14-14), k 2tog, yo] 5 times, k 3(2-2). K 4 rows. Bind off.

LEFT FRONT
With size 8 needles and A, cast on 89(92-94) sts loosely for front edge. K 8 rows for buttonband. Beg with row 21(21-23), work in Stripe Pat until there are 18 rows from beg.
Shape Neck: Next Row (RS): Work to last st, inc 1 st in last st (neck edge). Continue to inc 1 st at neck edge every other row 3 times more, then cast on 2 sts twice, 4 sts once. Work even in pat on 101(104-106) sts until there are 68(76-82) rows above buttonband, end with 4 rows E(D-D). Bind off all sts with E(D-D).

SLEEVES
Note: Sleeve is picked up along front and back armhole edge and dec’d down to the cuff so that you can adjust the sleeve length if necessary. Sleeve length is calculated to allow for stretch.
Sew shoulder seams. Place markers 9(9-1/2"-10)” down from shoulder seams on front and back for armholes. With RS facing and size 8 needles, pick up and k 82(86-90) sts between markers, using color to continue stripe pat from back. Continue in Stripe Pat, dec 1 st each side every 6th row 11(7-3) times, every 4th row 10(16-22) times. Work even on remaining 40 sts until piece measures 16" from beg.
Note: If you end with a B stripe in St st, be sure to work inc row 13(13-15) on last row before cuff.
Cuff: With A, work in garter st for 4 rows. Bind off with A.

FINISHING
Steam pieces lightly. Sew side and sleeve seams.
Neckband: With RS facing, using size 8 needles and A, beg at right front neck, pick up and k85(85-89) sts evenly around neck edge. Work in garter st for 8 rows. Bind off on WS.
Sew on buttons.
