MATERIALS BERROCO CHINCHILLA (50 grs), 5 balls #5535 Fawn.
Straight knitting needles, size 10-1/2 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
GAUGE
3 sts = 1"; 5 rows = 1" in St st.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.
NOTE
CHINCHILLA is used double throughout.
HEAD SCARF
With size 10-1/2 needles, using 2 strands of yarn held tog, cast on 15 sts. Work even in St st until piece measures 19" from beg, end on WS. Shape Hood
Cast on 3 sts at beg of the next row, then cast on 3 sts at same edge every RS row twice more - 24 sts. Inc Row (WS): P 1, M1p, p to end. Rep this inc every 2-1/2 twice more. Work even on 27 sts until piece measures 6" above last inc, end on RS. Dec Row (WS): P 1, p 2 tog, p to end. Rep this dec every 2-1/2 twice more, end on WS.
Bind off 3 sts at beg of the next row, then bind off 3 sts at same edge every RS row twice more - 15 sts. Work even until piece measures 19" above last set of bound-off sts, end on WS. Bind off all sts.
FINISHING
Fold head scarf in half with WS tog so that bound-off sts line up with cast-on sts. Sew these sts tog, then sew up back seam of hood.
