MATERIALS
BERROCO SMART COTTON (50 grs) 17(21) balls #1363 Midnight.
Straight knitting needles, sizes 6 and 7 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
Crochet hook size 3.50 mm (E).
Three 1" BERROCO buttons #A363.

GAUGE
6 sts = 1"; 6 rows = 1" in Lace Pat with size 7 needles.
21 sts = 4"; 30 rows = 4" in St st with size 6 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGES.

Due to the nature of lace pat, the number of sts will vary from row to row.

BACK
With larger needles, cast on 138(172) sts. Work in lace pat for 31(321/4)”. Bind off all sts.

LEFT FRONT
With larger needles, cast on 53(70) sts. Work in lace pat until same length as back. Bind off all sts.

RIGHT FRONT
Work same as left front.

SLEEVES
With larger needles, cast on 70(87) sts. Work in lace pat for 18(17)”. Bind off all sts.

SLEEVE GUSSETS (make 2)
With smaller needles, cast on 21 sts. Work in St st for 4". Bind off all sts.

FINISHING
Sew shoulder seams, leaving center 5(51/2)” of back free for neck. Place markers 6(71/4)” down from shoulders on front and back. Sew in sleeves between markers. Sew bound-off edge of one gusset along front side edge below sleeve. Sew right side of gusset along side of sleeve. Fold gusset in half and sew remaining two edges along back side and sleeve edges. Place markers 12" from lower edge of back and front for side slits. Sew side seams between side slit marker and gusset. Sew sleeve seams.
With RS facing, using crochet hook, work 1 row sc evenly around entire outside edge of jacket and lower edge of sleeves.
Sew 3 buttons along left front edge, the first one just below neck shaping, and the other two spaced 2" apart. Use eyelets from lace pat for buttonholes.
