FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust - 32(35-37)”.
Length - 211/2(211/2-22)”.

MATERIALS
BERROCO SMART COTTON (50 grs), 9(10-11) balls #1327 Green Tea.
Straight knitting needles, sizes 5 and 7 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
Cable Needle (cn).
6 St Markers.
1 St Holder.

GAUGE
7 sts = 1"; 8 rows = 1" in k 2, p 2 ribbing on size 7 needles.
7 sts = 1"; 29 rows = 4" in Cable Pat.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

STITCH GLOSSARY
CB6
Sl 4 sts to cn and hold in BACK, k 2, then p 2, k 2 from cn.

NOTE 1
For accurate gauge, steam swatch (See instructions on page 1). Both st and row gauge are extremely important for proper fit of this garment.

NOTE 2
There will be 1 more vertical rib on each side of center cable for Medium and 2 more for Large. The central portion which dips up at lower edge will, therefore, be wider for each size.

NOTE 3
Length was measured on side panels where garment is longest.

NOTE 4
This garment is shaped at waistline by decreasing in side panels then increasing.

RIGHT DIAGONAL PAT
Row 1 (RS): P 1, k 2 tog, k 1, (p 2, k 2) 5 times, p 1, yo, p 1.
Row 2: K 3, (p 2, k 2) 5 times, p 2, k 1.
Row 3: P 1, k 2 tog, ( p 2, k 2) 5 times, p 2, yo, p 1.
Row 4: K 4, (p 2, k 2) 5 times, p 1, k 1.
Row 5: P 1, p 2 tog, p 1, (k 2, p 2) 5 times, k 1, yo, p 1.
Row 6: K 2, p 1, (k 2, p 2) 5 times, k 3.
Row 7: P 1, p 2 tog, (k 2, p 2) 5 times, k 2, yo, p 1.
Row 8: K 2, (p 2, k 2) 6 times.
Rep these 8 rows for Right Diagonal Pat.

CABLE PAT - Worked over 14(22-30) sts.
Rows 1, 3, 7 and 9 (RS):
K 2, (p 2, k 2) 3(5-7) times.
Row 2 and all other WS rows: K the k sts and p the p sts as they face you.
Row 5: (K 2, p 2) 1(2-3) times, CB6, (p 2, k 2) 1(2-3) times.
Row 10: Rep Row 2.
Rep these 10 rows for Cable Pat.

LEFT DIAGONAL PAT
Row 1 (RS): P 1, yo, p 1, (k 2, p 2) 5 times, k 1, SSK, p 1.
Row 2: K 1, p 2, (k 2, p 2) 5 times, k 3.
Row 3: P 1, yo, p 2, (k 2, p 2) 5 times, SSK, p 1.
Row 4: K 1, p 1, (k 2, p 2) 5 times, k 4.
Row 5: P 1, yo, k 1, (p 2, k 2) 5 times, p 1, p 2 tog TBL, p 1.

BACK
With smaller needles, cast on 114(122-130) sts.
Row 1 (RS): P 2, * k 2, p 2, rep from * across.
Row 2: K 2, * p 2, k 2, rep from * across. Change to larger needles.
Pat St Placement
Next Row (RS): Work in ribbing as established over 24 sts, place marker, work Row 1 of Right Diagonal Pat over 26 sts, place marker, work Row 1 of Cable Pat over 14(22-30) sts, place marker, work Row 1 of Left Diagonal Pat over 26 sts, place marker, work in ribbing as established to end. Work even in pat as established until 28 rows of pat sts have been completed, end on WS.
1st Shaping Row (RS): P 2, k 2, p 2 tog, work to last 6 sts, p 2 tog, k 2, p 2 - 112(120-128) sts. Work even in pat as established until 42 rows of pat sts have been completed, end on Row 2 of Diagonal and Cable Pats.
Note: At this point, Diagonal Pats are discontinued.
Beg Diagonal Bands
Row 1 (2nd Shaping Row): P 2, k 2, p 1, k 2, p 2 tog, work in ribbing as established to 1 st before first marker. Sl next st to RH needle without working it and drop marker. Sl unworked st back to LH needle and p tog with next st, place marker, (k 2, p 2) 5 times, k 2, p 1, place marker, yo, p 2, work Row 3 of Cable Pat to next marker, p 2, yo, place marker, p 1, (k 2, p 2) 5 times, k 2, sl next st to RH needle without working it and drop marker. Sl unworked st back to LH needle and place marker, p 2 tog TBL then work in ribbing as established to last 9 sts, p 2 tog, k 2, p 1, k 2, p 2 - 110(118-126) sts.
Row 2: K the k sts and p the p sts as they face you, working yo’s into ribbing as established.
Row 3: Work in ribbing to 2 sts before first marker, p 2 tog, work in ribbing to next marker, yo, k 1, p 2, work in Cable Pat to next marker, p 2, k 1, yo, work in ribbing to last marker, p 2 tog TBL, work in ribbing to end.
Row 4: Rep Row 2. Rep Rows 3 and 4, moving diagonal bands 1 st to left and right every RS row and working yo’s into k 2, p 2 rib pat. AT THE SAME TIME, when 62 rows of Cable Pat have been completed, end on WS.
Next Row (3rd Shaping Row): P 2, k 2, p 1, k 2, M1P, p 1, work in pat as established to last 8 sts, p 1, M1P, k 2, p 1, k 2, p 2 - 112(120-128) sts. When 76 rows of Cable Pat have been completed, end on WS.
Next Row (4th Shaping Row): P 2, k 2, M1P, p 1, work in pat as established to last 5 sts, p 1, M1P, k 2, p 2 - 114(122-130) sts. Work even in pat as established until there are 3 sts before first marker and after last marker, end on WS.
Next Row (RS): P 1, p 2 tog, drop marker, work in pat as established to last marker, drop marker, p 2 tog TBL, p 1. Continue to move diagonal bands 1 st to left and right every RS row, making decs 1 st in from sides. When 106 rows of Cable Pat have been completed, end on WS - piece should measure 131/2” from beg. Stop moving diagonal bands over and work all sts on both sides of Cable Pat in k 2, p 2 ribbing as established.
Shape Armholes: Bind off 9 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, bind off 4 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then bind off 2 sts at beg of the next 4 rows. Work even in pat as established on 80(88-96) sts until armholes measure 7(7-71/2)”, end on WS.
Shape Shoulders and Neck: Bind off 6(8-10) sts, work until there are 22(24-26) sts on RH needle, join another ball of yarn and bind off center 24 sts, work to end. Working both sides at once, bind off 6(8-10) sts at beg of the next row, then bind off 7(8-9) sts at beg of the next 4 rows. AT THE SAME TIME, bind off 4 sts at each neck edge twice.

FRONT
Work same as for back until 117 rows of Cable Pat have been completed, end on Row 7 of Cable Pat. Armholes should measure 21/4”.
Right Side
Row 1 (WS): Work 31(35-39) sts in pat as established, SSK, p 2, k 2, p 3, sl remaining 40(44-48) sts onto holder for Left Side.
Row 2 (RS): K 3, p 2, k 2, p 2 tog TBL, work to end. Continue to dec in this manner EVERY row 6 times more, every other row 8 times, then every 4th row 4 times. AT THE SAME TIME, when armhole measures 7(7-71/2)”, shape shoulder same as for back.
Left Side: Work to correspond with Right Side, working neck decs as k 2 tog on WS rows and p 2 tog on RS rows.

FINISHING
Steam pieces (See instructions on page 1). Sew shoulder and side seams.
