RIDGE PAT
Row 1 (RS): Purl.
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: Knit.
Row 4: Purl.
Rep these 4 rows for Ridge Pat.
BACK
With size 6 needles, cast on 70(75-80-85-88-90-95) sts. Work even in St st for 1", end on WS. Work even in Ridge Pat until piece measures 93/4(101/2-11-111/2-121/4-13-131/2)” from beg, end on WS. Mark beg and end of last row for beg of armholes. Work even in Ridge Pat until armholes measure 51/4(51/2-6-61/2-63/4-7-71/2)”, end on WS.
Shape Neck: Work 23(25-27-29-30-
31-33) sts, join another hank of yarn and bind off center 24(25-26-27-28-
28-29) sts, work to end. Working both sides at once, dec 1 st at each neck edge EVERY row twice. When armholes measure 53/4(6-61/2-7-71/4-71/2-8)”, end on WS. Bind off 21(23-25-27-28-29-
31) sts each side for shoulders.
LEFT FRONT
With size 6 needles, cast on 36(39-41-43-45-47-49) sts. Work even in St st for 1", end on RS. Cast on 4 sts at beg of the next row, p to end - 40(43-45-47-49-51-53) sts. Work even in Ridge Pat until piece measures 93/4(101/2-11-111/2-121/4-13-131/2)”, end on same row as for back. Mark end of last row for beg of armhole. Work even in Ridge Pat until armhole measures 33/4(4-41/2-5-51/4-51/2-6)”, end on RS.
Shape Neck: Bind off 7(8-8-8-9-
10-10) sts at beg of the next row, then bind off 5 sts at neck edge every WS row once, bind off 4 sts once, then dec 1 st at neck edge every WS row 3 times. Work even on 21(23-25-27-28-29-31) sts until armholes measure 53/4(6-61/2-7-
71/4-71/2-8)”, end on same row as for back. Bind off all sts for shoulder.
Mark position of 5 buttons evenly spaced along front edge, the first 3/4” above 4 cast-on sts at bottom and the last 3/4” below beg of neck shaping.
RIGHT FRONT
With size 6 needles, cast on 36(39-41-43-45-47-49) sts. Work even in St st for 1", end on WS. Cast on 4 sts at beg of the next row - 40(43-47-49-
51-53) sts. Work even in Ridge Pat for 3/4”, end on Row 2.
Buttonhole Row (RS): K 3, bind off 2 sts, k to end.
Next Row: Purl, cast on 2 sts over sts bound-off on previous row. Complete to correspond to left front, reversing all shaping and making 4 more buttonholes opposite markers. Sew shoulder seams.
SLEEVES
With RS facing, using size 6 needles, pick up and k 58(60-65-70-73-75-80) sts along armhole edge between markers. P 1 row. Work even in Ridge Pat for 6 rows, then dec 1 st each side on next row, then every 8th row 0(3-0-0-1-4-0) times, then every 6th row 11(9-12-14-15-13-19) times, then every 4th row 1(0-2-1-0-0-0) times. Work even on 32(34-35-38-39-39-40) sts until sleeve measures 101/2(111/2-12-
13-141/4-16-161/2)”, end on WS. Beg with a k row, work even in St st for 1", end on WS. Bind off all sts.
FINISHING

Neckband: With RS facing, using size 5 needles, beg 4 sts in from right front edge, pick up and k 19(20-20-20-
21-22-22) sts along right front neck edge, 32(33-34-35-36-36-37) sts across back neck edge and 19(20-20-20-21-
22-22) sts along left front neck edge, end 4 sts in from left front edge - 70(73-74-75-78-80-81) sts. Beg with a p row, work even in St st for 1", end on WS. Bind off all sts. Sew side and sleeve seams, reversing seams over rolled edges. Sew on buttons.
