SIZES
Directions are for women’s size Small. Changes for sizes Medium, Large and X Large are in parentheses.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust – 40(44-48-54)".
Length – 22(22-1/2-23-23-1/2)".

MATERIALS
BERROCO DEJA VU (50 grs), 11(12-13-14)balls #9630 Jungle Brown (MC).
BERROCO SENSUWOOL® (50 grs), 2(3-3-3) balls #6530 Jungle Brown (CC).
Straight knitting needles, sizes 5 and 9 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
7 1" BERROCO buttons #A530 Jungle Brown.
2 St Holders.

GAUGE
13 sts = 4"; 9 rows = 2" in Reverse St st with MC on size 9 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.
Note: To avoid unwanted patterning when working with Deja Vu, we recommend using two balls alternately, working two rows with each ball.

BACK
With smaller needles, using CC, cast on 130(134-142-150) sts.
Row 1 (RS): K2, * p2, k2, rep from * across.
Row 2: P2, * k2, p2, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows for 2", end on Row 1. Change to larger needles and MC. P the next row, dec 64(62-64-62) sts evenly spaced across – 66(72-78-88) sts. Beg with a p row, work even in Reverse St st until piece measures 12-1/2" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Armholes: Bind off 2(2-2-4) sts at beg of the next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each side every RS row 6 times – 50(56-62-68) sts. Work even until armholes measure 8-1/2", end on WS.
Shape Shoulders: Bind off 6(7-9-10) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then 6(8-9-11) sts at beg of the next 2 rows. Bind off remaining 26 sts for neck.

LEFT FRONT
With smaller needles, using CC, cast on 70(74-78-82) sts.
Row 1 (RS): K2, * p2, k2, rep from * across.
Row 2: K1, p1, * k2, p2, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows for 2", end on Row 1.
Next Row (WS): Work 10 sts and sl these sts onto holder for frontband, change to larger needles and MC, purl, dec 30(31-32-31) sts evenly spaced across – 30(33-36-41) sts. Beg with a p row, work even in Reverse St st until piece measures 12-1/2" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Armhole: Bind off 2(2-2-4) sts at beg of the next row. Dec 1 st at armhole edge every RS row 6 times – 22(25-28-31) sts. Work even until armhole measures 7", end on RS.
Shape Neck: Bind off 4 sts at beg of the next row, then dec 1 st at neck edge EVERY row 6 times. AT THE SAME TIME, when armhole measures 8-1/2", shape shoulder same as for back.

RIGHT FRONT
With smaller needles, using CC, cast on 70(74-78-82) sts.
Row 1 (RS): K2, * p2, k2, rep from * across.
Row 2: * P2, k2, rep from * to last 2 sts, p1, k1. Rep these 2 rows for 1", end on Row 2.
Buttonhole (RS): K2, p2, bind off 2 sts, work in ribbing as established to end.
Next Row: Work in ribbing as established, cast on 2 sts over sts bound off on previous row. Work even in ribbing until piece measures 2" from beg, end on RS. Change to larger needles and MC, purl, dec 30(31-32-31) sts evenly spaced across next 60(64-68-72) sts, sl last 10 sts onto holder for frontband – 30(33-36-41) sts. Complete to correspond to left front, reversing all shaping.

SLEEVES
With smaller needles, using CC, cast on 50 sts. Work in ribbing same as for back for 2", end on Row 1. Change to larger needles and MC, purl, dec 21 sts evenly spaced across – 29 sts. Beg with a p row, work in Reverse St st, inc 1 st each side every 4th row 0(0-0-6) times, every 6th row 0(5-7-6) times, every 8th row 3(5-3-0) times, then every 10th row 5(0-0-0) times – 45(49-49-53) sts. Work even until sleeve measures 20(19-18-17)" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Cap: Bind off 2(2-2-3) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then dec 1 st each side every 4th(4th-4th-6th) row 3(3-3-2) times – 35(39-39-43) sts. Bind off all sts loosely.

FINISHING
Steam pieces lightly.
Left Frontband: With RS facing, sl 10 sts from holder to smaller needle. Join CC, inc 1, work in ribbing to end – 11 sts.
Next Row: K1, p1, (k2, p2) twice, k1. Work even in ribbing as established until frontband, when slightly stretched, reaches to beg of neck shaping, dec 1 st at end of last row, end on WS. Sl 10 sts onto holder. Sew frontband to front edge of sweater. Mark position of 6 buttons evenly spaced along frontband, the first 1" up from lower edge and the last 2-3/4" below upper edge (the 7th buttonhole will be made in neckband).
Right Frontband: With WS facing, sl 10 sts from holder to smaller needle. Join CC, inc 1, work in ribbing to end – 11 sts. Complete to correspond to left frontband, making 5 more buttonholes opposite markers on left frontband and decreasing 1 st at end of last row, end on RS. Sew frontband to front edge of sweater. Sew shoulder seams.
Neckband: With RS facing, sl 10 sts from right front holder to smaller needle, join CC and pick up and k24 sts along right front neck edge, 42 sts across back neck edge, 24 sts along left front neck edge then work in ribbing across 10 sts of left front holder – 110 sts.
Row 1 (WS): K1, p1, * k2, p2, rep from * to last 4 sts, k2, p1, k1.
Row 2: K2, * p2, k2, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows until neckband measures 3/4", end on Row 1. Make buttonhole on next row, then work even in ribbing until neckband measures 1-1/2". Bind off all sts in ribbing. Sew in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams. Sew on buttons.
