SIZES
Directions are for women’s size X-Small. Changes for sizes Small, Medium, Large, X-Large and XX-Large are in parentheses.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Lower edge - 38 (40-42-44-48-52)".
Bust - 36 (38-40-42-46-50)".
Length - 30 (30-30-30-1/2-30-1/2-30-1/2)".

MATERIALS
BERROCO SENSUWOOL (50 grs), 3(4-4-4-5-5 ) balls each in #6659 Dahlia Purple (A) and #6532 Auburn (D); 3(3-4-4-4-5) balls #6533 Provence Green (B) and 4(4-4-5-5-5) balls #6422 Plum (C).
Straight knitting needles sizes 5 and 7 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

GAUGE
21 sts= 4"; 28 rows = 4" in St st using size 7 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

NOTE
Front is made in 2 different color pieces and seamed at center front and back is made in 2 different color pieces and seamed at center back. Center seam shows on the right side of work. Make left front first.

LEFT FRONT
With smaller needles using Plum (C), cast on 52 (56-58-62-66-70) sts.
Row 1 (RS): *P1, k1;, rep from * to end. Continue in k1, p1 rib as established for 3/4", end on WS. Change to larger needles.
Next row (RS): K1 (selvage st), k to last 6 sts, (p1, k1) 3 times. Continue to work in this way with k1 selvage st at beg and last 6 sts in k1, p1 rib as established until piece measures 8" from beg.
Next row (RS): K1, ssk (for side seam dec), work to end. Rep side seam dec every 20th row twice more - 49 (53-55-59-63-67) sts. Work even until piece measures 18" from beg.
Shape armholes: (Read before beg to knit).
Next row (RS): Bind off 4 (5-5-6-6-7) sts at beg of row, work to end. Continue to shape armhole by binding off at beg of RS rows (armhole edge) 2 sts 2 (2-3-3-4-4) times, then dec 1 st every other row 4 (4-4-5-5-6) times, every 4th row 4 (5-5-5-5-5) times and AT SAME TIME, when there are 10 rows in armhole and armhole measures approximately 1-1/2", beg V-neck shaping as follows:
Shape V-neck:
Next (dec) row (RS): Continue with armhole shaping, work to last 8 sts, k2tog, (p1, k1) 3 times. Rep dec row for V-neck shaping every 4th row 12 times, every 6th row 3 times - 17 (19-19-21-23-25) sts remaining after all decs. Work even until armhole measures 11-1/2 (11-1/2-11-1/2-12-12-12)".
Shape shoulder: Bind off from armhole edge 5 (6-6-7-8-9) sts every other row twice. Sl remaining 7 sts of band to holder.

RIGHT BACK
With Dahlia Purple (A), work as for left front to beg of armhole shaping.
Shape armhole: Work as for left front armhole and, omitting V-neck shaping, work even on 33 (35-35-37-39-41) sts until armhole measures 11 (11-11-11-1/2-11-1/2-11-1/2)".
Shape Neck: Next row (WS): Bind off 13 sts, work to end. Continue to shape neck, binding off 5 sts from neck edge every other row twice and AT SAME TIME, when armhole measures 11-1/2 (11-1/2- 11-1/2-12-12-12)", bind off 5 (6-6-7-8-9) sts from armhole edge every other row twice for shoulder.

RIGHT FRONT
With smaller needles, using Provence Green (B), cast on 52 (56-58-62-66-70) sts.
Row 1 (RS): *K1, p1, rep from * to end. Continue in k1, p1 rib as established for 3/4", end on WS. Change to larger needles.
Next row (RS): (K1, p1) 3 times, k to last st, k1 (selvage st). Continue with 6-st rib at beg and remaining sts in St st with selvage st (for side seam), work as established until piece measures 8" from beg.
Next row (RS): Work to last 3 sts, k2tog, (for side seam dec), k1. Rep side seam dec every 20th row twice more - 49 (53-55-59-63-67) sts. Work even until piece measures 18" from beg, end on RS.
Shape armhole: Next row (WS): Bind off 4 (5-5-6-6-7) sts, work to end. Continue to shape armhole by binding off at beg of WS rows (armhole edge) 2 sts 2 (2-3-3-4-4) times, then dec 1 st every other row 4 (4-4-5-5-6) times, every 4th row 4 (5-5-5-5-5) times and AT SAME TIME when there are 10 rows in armhole and armhole measures approximately 1-1/2", beg V-neck shaping as follows:

Shape shoulder: Bind off from armhole edge (beg of WS rows) 5 (6-6-7-8-9) sts every other row twice. Sl remaining 7 sts of band to holder.

LEFT BACK
With Auburn (D), work as for right front to beg of armhole shaping.
Shape armhole: Work as for right front and, omitting V-neck shaping, work even on 33 (35-35- 37-39-41) sts until armhole measures 11(11-11-11-1/2-11-1/2-11-1/2)".
Shape neck: Next row (RS): Bind off 13 sts, work to end. Continue to shape neck, binding off 5 sts from neck edge every other row twice and AT SAME TIME, when armhole measures 11-1/2 (11-1/2- 11-1/2-12-12-12)", bind off 5 (6-6-7-8-9) sts from armhole edge every other row twice for shoulder.

POCKETS
Make 1 Auburn (D) for right front and 1 Dahlia Purple (A) for left front. With larger needles and A or D, cast on 35(35-35-35-39-39) sts. K1 row on WS. Then, beg with a k row, continue in St st (with k1 selvage sts each side) until piece measures 5 -3/4 (5-3/4-5-3/4-5-3/4-6-6)" from beg. Work in k1, p1 rib for 3/4". Bind off in rib.

FINISHING
Block pieces to measurements. Sew shoulder seams. Sew center front seam and back seam from RS or so that seam shows on RS of work. With smaller needles and C, work across 7 sts from left front and continue in k1, p1 rib until band fits to center back. Sl sts to a holder. With B, work right front band in same way. Weave bands tog at center back. Sew band to back neck edge
Armbands: With RS facing, using smaller needles and Auburn (D), pick up and k 148 (148-148-154-154-154) sts evenly around right armhole edge. Work in k1, p1 rib for 3/4". Bind off in rib. Work left armhole with Dahlia Purple (A) in same way. Sew side seams. Sew on pockets placing them 2-1/4" from center seam and 2-1/4" from lower edge.
