Length - 27-1/2 (28-28-1/2-29-29-1/2-30)".

MATERIALS
BERROCO SENSUWOOL (50 grs), 14(15-16-17-18-19) balls #6645 Shaker Gray.
Straight knitting needles, size 7 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

GAUGE
21 sts = 4"; 28 rows = 4" in St st using size 7 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

STITCH GLOSSARY
RFF dec 2
Right full-fashioned dec 2
- K2, ssk, then sl resulting st back to LH needle, lift 2nd st on LH needle over returned st and replace returned st on RH needle.
LFF dec 2
Left full-fashioned dec 2
- Over last 5 sts, sl 1, k2tog, psso the k2tog (SK2P), k2.

NOTE
Side slit opening measures 5", but 6-st rib continues for 6 rows after end of slit to "frame" the slit.

BACK
Cast on 123 (127-133-139-149-159) sts.
Row 1 (RS): *K1 tbl, p1; rep from *, end k1 tbl.
Row 2: *P1 tbl, k1; rep from *, end p1 tbl. Rep these 2 rows for k1, p1 twisted rib for a total of 6 rows.
Next row (RS): (K1 tbl, p1) 3 times, k4 (3-0-0-2-5), (k2tog, k5) 15 (16-17-18-19-20) times, k2tog (k0-k2tog-k1-k2tog-k2), (p1, k1 tbl) 3 times. Continue with first 6 sts and last 6 sts in rib as established, work remaining 95 (99-103-109-117-127) sts in St st until piece measures 5" from beg. This is end of side slit.
Next row (RS): Inc 1 k st in first st (this is selvage st for side seam), work rib over 6 sts, work St st to last 6 sts, work rib inc 1 k st in last st (for end selvage st) - 109 (113-117-123-131-141) sts. Continue with k1 selvage sts and 6 sts in rib each side for 5 more rows.
Next row (RS): K across all sts. Continue in St st, dec 1 st each side of row (inside selvage sts) every 12th (12th-14th-14th-14th-12th) row 6 (6-5-5-5-6) times - 97 (101-107-113-121-129) sts. Work even until piece measures 19-3/4" from beg.
Shape armholes: Dec row (RS): Work RFF dec 2, k to last 5 sts, work LFF dec 2. Rep dec row every 4th row 5 (5-6-6-7-7) times more - 73 (77-79-85-89-97) sts. Work even until armhole measures 5-3/4 (6-1/4-6-3/4-7-1/4-7-3/4-8-1/4)", end on RS.
Set-up for neck: Next row (WS): Work 12 (14-15-18-19-23) sts, place marker, p1 (1-1-1-3-3), (M1, p6) 8 times place marker; work 12 (14-15-18-19-23) sts. There are 81 (85-87-93-97-105) sts.
Next row (RS): Work St st to marker, *p1, k1 tbl; rep from * to last st before marker, p1, work St st to end. Continue to work center 57 (57-57-57-59-59) sts between markers in twisted rib and remaining sts in St st for 5 more rows.
Shape neck: Next row (RS): Work to marker, work 6 sts in rib, join another ball of yarn and bind off center 45 (45-45-45-47-47) sts, work 6 sts in rib, work in St st to end. Continue to work both sides separately as established until armhole measures 7 (7-1/2-8-8-1/2-9-9-1/2)".
Shape shoulders: Bind off from each shoulder edge 6 (7-7-8-8-10) sts twice and 6 (6-7-8-9-9) sts once.

FRONT
Work as for back, including armhole shaping, until armhole measures 4-1/4 (4-3/4-5-1/4-5-3/4-6-1/4-6-3/4)".
Set-up for neck: Next row (WS): Work 18 (20-21-24-25-29) sts, place marker, p5, (M1, p4) 8 (8-8-8-7-7) times, (M1, p6) 0 (0-0-0-1-1) time, place marker, work 18 (20-21-24-25-29) sts. There are 81 (85-87-93-97-105) sts.
Next row (RS): Work St st to marker, *p1, k1 tbl; rep from * to last st before marker, p1, work St st to end. Continue to work center 45 (45-45-45-47-47) sts between markers in twisted rib and remaining sts in St st for 3 more rows.
Shape neck: Dec row (RS): Work to 4 sts before first marker, sl next 2 sts knitwise to cn and hold in FRONT and parallel to LH needle, then k1 st tog from cn and from LH needle at same time (for 2-st dec), work to 2nd marker, sl next 2 sts knitwise to cn and hold in BACK and parallel to LH needle, then K1 st tog from cn and from LH needle at same time (for 2-st dec), work to end. Work 1 row even.
Next row (RS): Work 16 (18-19-22-23-27) sts in St st, 6 sts in rib, join another ball of yarn and bind off center 33 (33-33-33-35-35) sts, work 6 sts in rib, remaining sts in St st. Continue to work both sides separately, rep dec row for neck every 6th row twice more - 18 (20-21-24-25-29) sts rem each side. When same length as back, shape shoulders as on back.

SLEEVES
Cast on 51 (53-53-55-57-57) sts. Work in k1, p1 twisted rib for 6 rows.
Next row (RS): K1 (selvage), knit to last st, decreasing 6 sts evenly spaced, k1 (selvage st) - 45 (47-47-49-51-51) sts. Continue in St st, inc 1 st each side (inside of selvage sts) every 6th row 3 (7-11-15-15-11) times, every 8th (8th-8th-0-0-4th) row 9 (6-3-0-0-6) times - 69 (73-75-79-81-85) sts. Work even until piece measures 15" from beg.
Shape cap: Dec row (RS): Work RFF dec 2, k to last 5 sts, work LFF dec 2. Rep dec row every 4th row 7 (7-8-9-10-11) times, every 2nd row 4 (5-5-5-4-4) times. Bind off remaining 21 (21-19-19-21-21) sts.

FINISHING
Block pieces to measurements. Sew shoulder seams. Sew sleeves into armholes. Sew sleeve seams. Sew side seams, leaving 5" slits open.
