MATERIALS
BERROCO FURZ (50 grs), 10(11-12-13-14) balls #3834 Black.
Straight knitting needles, size 10 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
16" length circular knitting needle, size 8.
1 St Marker.
GAUGE
4 sts = 1"; 5 rows = 1" in St st on size 10 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.
NOTE
When measuring length of body and sleeves of this garment, flatten out rolled edge and measure from beg.
BACK
With straight needles, cast on 76(80-88-96-104) sts. Work even in St st for 1", then dec 1 st each side every 2-1/2" 4 times – 68(72-80-88-96) sts. Work even until piece measures 12" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Armholes: Bind off 4 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then dec 1 st each side every RS row 4 times – 52(56-64-72-80) sts. Work even until armholes measure 7-1/2(8-8-1/2-9-9-1/2)", end on WS.
Shape Shoulders: Bind off 4(5-6-7-8) sts at beg of the next 4 rows, then 5(4-6-7-9) sts at beg of the next 2 rows. Bind off remaining 26(28-28-30-30) sts for neck.
FRONT
Work same as for back until armholes measure 6(6-1/2-7-7-1/2-8)", end on WS.
Shape Neck: K21(22-26-29-33) sts, join another ball of yarn and bind off center 10(12-12-14-14) sts, k to end. Working both sides at once, bind off 3 sts at each neck edge twice, then dec 1 st at each neck edge every RS row twice . AT THE SAME TIME, when armholes measure 7-1/2(8-8-1/2-9-9-1/2)", shape shoulders same as for back.
SLEEVES
With straight needles, cast on 40 sts. Work even in St st for 1", then inc 1 st each side every 4th row 0(0-0-0-7) times, every 6th row 0(0-2-12-9) times, every 8th row 0(2-10-2-0) times, every 10th row 0(8-0-0-0) times, then every 12th row 8(0-0-0-0) times – 56(60-64-68-72) sts. Work even until sleeve measures 21(21-20-1/2-19-1/2-18-1/2)" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Cap: Bind off 4 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then dec 1 st each side every other RS row twice – 44(48-52-56-60) sts. Bind off all sts.
FINISHING
Steam pieces lightly. Sew shoulder seams.
Turtleneck: With RS facing, using circular needle, beg at center back neck, pick up and k13(14-14-15-15) sts to left shoulder seam, 14 sts along left front neck edge, 10(12-12-14-14) sts across front neck edge, 14 sts along right front neck edge and 13(14-14-15-15) sts across remaining back neck edge – 64(68-68-72-72) sts. Mark for beg of round and carry marker up. Work in k2, p2 ribbing for 8". Bind off all sts in ribbing. Sew in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams, reversing seams over rolled edges.
