Note: This garment is designed to fit close to the body. Due to the nature of the ribbing, there will be about 5" of stretch in the body of the sweater. The above measurements were taken with the sweater lying flat. Please take this into consideration when selecting your size.

BERROCO SENSUWOOL (50 grs), 14(15-16-17) balls #6533 Provence Green.
Straight knitting needles, size 7 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
2 St Markers.
GAUGE
8 sts = 1"; 29 rows = 4" in k2, p2 ribbing.
21 sts = 4"; 15 rows = 2" in Horizontal Rib Pat.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.
NOTE
Front of this garment has a shaped panel to accentuate the waist. Back is worked straight.
HORIZONTAL RIB PAT
Row 1 (RS): Knit.
Rows 2 and 5: Purl.
Rows 3 and 4: Knit.
Row 6: Knit.
Rep these 6 rows for Horizontal Rib Pat.
BACK
With size 7 needles, cast on 124(140-156-172) sts.
Row 1 (RS): K3, * p2, k2, rep from * across, end k1.
Row 2: P3, * k2, p2, rep from * across, end p1. Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 13" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Armholes: Bind off 4 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, 3 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, 2 sts at beg of the next 4 rows, then dec 1 st each side every other row 3 times -96(112-128-144) sts. Work even in ribbing as established until armholes measure 7-1/2(8-8-1/2-9)", end on WS.
Shape Shoulders and Neck: Bind off 10(12-14-18) sts, work until there are 22(28-34-38) sts on RH needle, join another ball of yarn and bind off center 32 sts, work to end. Working both sides at once, bind off 10(12-14-18) sts at beg of the next row, then 9(12-15-17) sts at beg of the next 4 rows. AT THE SAME TIME, bind off 2 sts at each neck edge twice.
FRONT
With size 7 needles, cast on 104(120-136-152) sts.
Establish Pat Sts: Row 1 (RS): K3, (p2, k2) 7(9-11-13) times, p2, place marker, work Row 1 of Horizontal Stripe Pat across 38 sts, place marker, p2, (k2, p2) 7(9-11-13) times, k3.
Row 2: P3, (k2, p2) 7(9-11-13) times, k2, work Row 2 of Horizontal Stripe Pat to next marker, k2, (p2, k2) 7(9-11-13) times, p3. Work even in pat as established until 18 rows have been completed, end on WS.
Next Row (RS): Dec 1 st after first marker and 1 st before second marker 102(118-134-150) sts (36 sts in center panel). Rep this dec every 6th row 4 times more 94(110-126-142) sts (28 sts in center panel). Work even in pat as established until 72 rows have been completed (you should have 12 Reverse St st stripes in center panel and piece should measure approximately 10" from beg).
Next Row (RS): Inc 1 st after first marker and 1 st before second marker 96(112-128-144) sts (30 sts in center panel). Rep this inc every 6th row 4 times more 104(120-136-152) sts (38 sts in center panel). AT THE SAME TIME, when piece measures 13" from beg, shape armholes same as for back 76(92-108-124) sts. Work even in pat as established until armholes measure 2-1/2(3-3-1/2-4)", end on Row 6 of Horizontal Stripe Pat.
Shape Neck: Work to first marker, drop marker, p1, sl remaining sts onto holder 20(28-36-44) sts.
Left Side: Next Row (WS): K3, p2, place marker, (k2, p2) 3(5-7-9) times, k2, p1.
Dec Row (RS): Work in ribbing to 2 sts before marker, dec 1, k2, p3. Working in ribbing as established, dec 1 st before marker every 4th row 4 times, then every other row 8 times. AT THE SAME TIME, when armhole measures 7-1/2(8-8-1/2-9)", shape shoulder same as for back. Work even on remaining 5 sts of neckband for 3". Bind off all sts.
Right Side: With RS facing, sl sts from holder onto needle, join yarn and bind off center 36 sts, drop marker, p2, k2, place marker, work in ribbing to end. Complete to correspond to left side, working decs after marker.
SLEEVES
With size 7 needles, cast on 66(70-74-78) sts.
Row 1 (RS) K2, * p2, k2, rep from * across.
Row 2: P2, * k2, p2, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows, inc 1 st each side every 6th row 0(0-2-10) times, every 8th row 0(7-13-7) times, every 10th row 8(6-0-0) times, then every 12th row 3(0-0-0) times, working incs in ribbing 88(96-104-112) sts. Work even until sleeve measures 17-1/2" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Cap: Bind off 4 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, 3 sts at beg of the next 0(2-2-2) rows, 2 sts at beg of the next 24(26-30-34) rows, then dec 1 st at beg of the next 2(0-0-0) rows. Bind off remaining 30 sts.
FINISHING
Steam pieces. Sew shoulder seams. Sew bound-off edges of neckbands tog. Sew inside edge of neckband to back neck edge. Sew in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams.
