Directions are for women’s size X Small. Changes for sizes Small, Medium, Large, X Large and XX Large are in parentheses.

 

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust (buttoned) – 38(42-46-50-54-58)".
Length – 23(23-1/2-24-24-1/2-25-25-1/2)".

 

MATERIALS
BERROCO LINET (50 grs) 5(5-5-6-6-7) balls #3109 Mint Julip(A).
BERROCO GLACE COLORS (50 grs) 5(5-5-6-6-7) hanks #2848 Seafoam (B).
BERROCO METALLIC FX (25 grs) 5(5-5-6-6-7) hanks #1009 Tourmaline (C).
BERROCO GLACE (50 grs) 5(5-5-6-6-7) hanks #2327 Green Tea (D).
Straight knitting needles, sizes 7 and 8 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
Crochet hook, size 4.50 mm (G).
7 1" BERROCO buttons, #A327 Green Tea.

 

GAUGE
11 sts = 2"; 7 rows = 1" in St st and Wave and Stripe Pat on sizes 7 and 8 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

 

NOTE
When there are not enough sts to work a complete rep of Wave Pat, work extra sts in St st.

 

WAVE PAT (multiple of 11 sts)
Rows 1, 5 and 7 (RS): Knit.
Row 2 and all WS rows: Purl.
Row 3: *(p2tog) twice, (M1, k1) 3 times, M1, (p2tog) twice; rep from * to end.
Row 8: Purl.
Rep these 8 rows for Wave Pat.

 

STRIPE PAT
* Using size 7 needles, work 8 rows A, 8 rows B, using size 8 needles work 8 rows C, using size 7 needles work 8 rows D; rep from * for Stripe Pat (32 rows).

 

BACK
With size 7 needles, using A, cast on 105(116-127-138-149-160) sts. Work in Stripe Pat as follows: Work 3 sts in St st, 99(110-121-132-143-154) sts in Wave Pat, 3 sts in St st. Continue in pats as established until piece measures 15" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Armhole: Bind off 3 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, 2 sts at beg of the next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each side on next row then every other row 8 times more. Work even in pats on remaining 77(88-99-110-121-132) sts until armholes measure 8(8-1/2-9-9-1/2-10-10-1/2)". Bind off all sts.

 

LEFT FRONT
With size 7 needles and A, cast on 50(55-61-66-72-77) sts. Work in Stripe Pat as follows: Work 3(0-3-0-3-0) sts in St st, 44(55-55-66-66-77) sts in Wave Pat, 3(0-3-0-3-0) sts in St st. Continue in pats as established until piece measures 15" from beg, end on WS. Shape armhole at beg of RS rows same as back. Work even in pat on remaining 36(41-47-52-58-63) sts until armhole measures 5-1/2(6-6-1/2-7-7-1/2-8)", end on RS.
Shape Neck: Next Row (WS): Bind off 5(5-5-5-6-6) sts (neck edge), work to end. Continue to bind off from neck edge 3 sts twice, then 2 sts twice, then dec 1 st every other row 2(2-3-3-3-3) times. Work even until same length as back. Bind off remaining 19(24-29-34-39-44) sts for shoulder.

 

RIGHT FRONT
Work to correspond to left front, reversing all shaping.

 

SLEEVES
With size 7 needles and A, cast on 44 sts. Work in Wave and Stripe Pat, inc 1 st each side (working inc sts into pat) every 2nd row 0(0-0-4-10-16) times, then every 4th row 10(19-25-26-23-20) times, then every 6th row 12(6-2-0-0-0) times. Work even on 88(94-98-104-110-116) sts until piece measures 17" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Cap: Work same as back armhole shaping. Bind off remaining 60(66-70-76-82-88) sts.

 

FINISHING
Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams.
Buttonband: With RS facing, using crochet hook and A, beg at first neck bind-off, work rows of sc evenly along straight edge of left front for 1". Fasten off. Place markers on band for 7 buttons, the first one 1" from lower edge, the last one 1/2" from top edge, and 5 others spaced evenly between.
Buttonhole band: With RS facing, using crochet hook and A, beg at lower edge, work rows of sc evenly along straight edge of right front for 1/2". Work buttonholes on next row opposite markers as follows: ch 4, sk 3 sc for each buttonhole. On following row, work 3 sc in each ch-4 space. When band measures 1", fasten off.
Neckband: With RS facing, using crochet hook and A, beg at right front neck edge, work 1 row sc evenly around neck edge. Do not turn. Work 1 row backwards sc (from left to right). Fasten off. Sew on buttons.
