MATERIALS
BERROCO PRONTO (50 grs), 7(8-9-10) balls #4409 Lolita Lime (MC).
BERROCO METALLIC FX (25 grs), 1 hank #1008 Sapphire (CC).
Straight knitting needles, sizes 6, 10 and 11 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
16" length circular knitting needle, size 10.
GAUGE
3 sts = 1"; 4 rows = 1" in St st with size 11 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.
BACK
With size 10 needles and MC, cast on 43(45-49-51) sts. Work in k1, p1 rib for 1", inc 0(1-0-1) st on last row. Change to size 11 needles and work in St st on 43(46-49-52) sts until piece measures 13(14-15-16)" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Neck: Next Row (RS): K16(17-18-19), join 2nd ball of yarn and bind off center 11(12-13-14) sts, k to end. Working both sides at once, bind off 3 sts from each neck edge once. Bind off remaining 13(14-15-16) sts each side for shoulders.
FRONT
Work same as for back until piece measures 12(13-14-15)" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Neck: Next Row (RS): K18(19-20-21), join 2nd ball of yarn and bind off center 7(8-9-10) sts, k to end. Working both sides at once, bind off 3 sts from each neck edge once, then 2 sts once. Work even until same length as back. Bind off remaining 13(14-15-16) sts each side for shoulders.
SLEEVES
With size 10 needles and MC, cast on 22(23-26-27) sts. Work in k1, p1 rib for 1". Change to larger needles and work in St st, inc 1 st each side on next row, then every 6th row 5(6-6-7) times more. Work even on 34(37-40-43) sts until piece measures 11(12-12-1/2-13-1/2)" from beg. Bind off all sts.
HOOD – Left Half
With size 11 needles and MC, cast on 24(26-28-30) sts and work in St st for 7-1/2(8-8-1/2-9)". Bind off at beg of WS rows as follows: 6(6-7-7) sts twice, 6(7-7-8) sts twice.
HOOD – Right Half
Work to correspond to left half, reversing shaping.
RECTANGLE
With size 10 needles, using 2 strands of CC held tog, cast on 28 sts. Keeping first and last st in garter st, work remaining sts in St st for 5". Bind off.
FINISHING
Sew shoulder seams. Sew bound-off edges of hood tog for top edge, then sew shorter side seams tog, forming back seam. With size 10 needles and MC, pick up and k67(71-73-77) sts evenly around front edge of hood. Work in k1, p1 rib for 1". Bind off loosely in rib. Sew cast-on edge of hood around neck edge so that edges of ribbing meet at center front neck.
Place markers 5-1/2(6-6-1/2-7)" down from shoulder seam on front and back for armholes. Sew top of sleeve between markers. Sew side and sleeve seams.
