A Glace Colors tank top, knit in a twill stitch and banded with an eyelet crochet stitch with a
ribbon drawn through the neckline.

 

Shown in size Small.

 

SIZES
Directions are for women’s size X-Small.  Changes for sizes Small, Medium, Large, X-Large and XX-Large are in parentheses.

 

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust – 32(34-38-44-48-54)”.Length – 18(18-1/2-19-19-1/2-19-1/2-20)”.

 

MATERIALS
BERROCO GLACE COLORS (50 grs), 7(8-9-10-11-12) hanks #2845 Abalone.
Straight knitting needles, size 7 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
Crochet hook, size 3.50 mm (E).
1-1/2 yds 1/4” wide ribbon (Optional).

 

GAUGE
20 sts = 4”;  25 rows = 4" in Pat St.TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

 

PATTERN STITCH
Note:
  All sts are slipped with yarn in FRONT.
Row 1 and all WS rows:
  Purl.
Row 2:
  * Sl 3, k3, rep from * across.
Row 4:  K1, * sl 3, k3, rep from * to last 5 sts, end sl 3, k2.
Row 6:
  K2, * sl 3, k3, rep from * to last 4 sts, end sl 3, k1.
Row 8:
  * K3, sl 3, rep from * across.
Row 10:
  Sl 1, * k3, sl 3, rep from * to last 5 sts, end k3, sl 2.
Row 12:
  Sl 2, * k3, sl 3, rep from * to last 4 sts, end k3, sl 1.Rep these 12 rows for Pat St.

 

BACK
With straight needles, cast on 92(98-104-122-128-146) sts.  Keeping 1 st each side in St st, and remaining sts in Pat St, work even for 1”, end on WS.
Next Row (RS):  K1, SSK, k to last 3 sts, k2 tog, k1.  Rep this dec every 10th row 5(5-0-5-0-0) times, every 12th row 0(0-0-0-0-3) times, every 14th row 0(0-0-0-0-1) time, every 16th row 0(0-2-0-2-0) times, then every 18th row 0(0-1-0-1-0) time, forming new pats as sts are dec’d.  Work even on 80(86-96-110-120-136) sts until piece measures 10” from beg, end on WS.
Shape Armholes:
  Bind off 3(3-3-4-5-5) sts at beg of the next 4 rows, 0(0-0-4-4-3) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then 0(0-0-0-0-3) sts at beg of the next 2 rows.
Next Row (RS): 
K1, SSK, work in pat as established to last 3 sts, k2 tog, k1.  Rep this dec every RS row 3 times more.  Keeping 1 st each side in St st and remaining sts in pat as established, work even on 60(66-76-78-84-96) sts until armholes measure 5(5-1/2-6-6-1/2-6-1/2-7)”, end on WS.
Shape Neck:
  Work 17(20-25-26-29-35) sts, join another hank of yarn and bind off center 26 sts, work to end.  Working both sides at once, bind off 3 sts at each neck edge twice, then dec 1 st at each neck edge every RS row 4 times.  Work even on 7(10-15-16-19-25) sts until armholes measure 7-1/2(8-8-1/2-9-9-9-1/2)”, end on WS.
Shape Shoulders:
  Bind off 4(5-8-8-10-13) sts at each armhole edge once, then 3(5-7-8-9-12) sts once.

 

FRONT
Work same as for back until armholes measure 3-1/2(4-4-1/2-5-5-5-1/2)”, end on WS.
Shape Neck:
  Work 20(23-28-29-32-38) sts, join another hank of yarn and bind off center 20 sts, work to end.  Working both sides at once, bind off 3 sts at each neck edge 3 times, then dec 1 st at each neck edge every RS row 4 times.  Complete same as for back.

 

FINISHING

Steam pieces lightly.  Sew shoulder and side seams.
Neck Edging:
With RS facing, using crochet hook, join yarn at center back neck edge, work 1 rnd sc around entire neck edge, join with a sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2:
  Ch 2, * skip 2 sc’s, dc in next sc, ch 2, rep from * around, join with a sl st in top of ch 2.  Fasten off.  Beg at side seams, work armhole and bottom edging same as for neck edging.
Optional:
  Beg at center front, weave ribbon in and out through neck edging.  Tie in a bow at center front neck.
