Yarn used ...

A V-neck pullover in Glace with trumpet sleeves, clever yarn over detailing at the neck, and faggoting full fashioning.

 

Shown in size Small.

 

SIZES
Directions are for women's size X-Small.  Changes for sizes Small, Medium, and Large  are in parentheses.

 

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust 34-1/2(36-38-1/2-40)”.Waist 30-1/2(32-34-1/2-36)”.Length 20(20-1/2- 21-1/2-22)”.

 

MATERIALS
BERROCO GLACE (50grs) 11 (12-13-13) hanks #2327 Green Tea.
Straight knitting needles sizes 5 and 7 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
St markers.
St holders.

 

GAUGE
5 sts = 1”;  7 rows = 1” in St st on size 7 needles.TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

 

NOTE
When working center V-neck detail, be sure to pull up and adjust sts each side of stranding evenly.

 

BACK
With  smaller needles, cast on 85 (88-94-97) sts.
Row 1 (RS):
K1, *p2, k1, rep from * to end.
Row 2:
P1, *k2, p1, rep from * to end.  Change to larger needles and k next RS row dec 1 (0-0-inc 1) st on row – 84 (88-94-98) sts.  Work even in St st for 7 more rows, end on WS.
Dec row (RS): 
K10(12-14-15), k2 tog, k to last 12(14-16-17) sts, SSK, k to end.  Rep dec row every 10th row 3 times more – 76(80-86-90) sts.  Work even until piece measures 7” from beg, end on WS.
Inc row (RS):  K1, k into front and back of next st (inc), k to last 3 sts, inc 1 st in next st, k2.  Rep inc row every 8th row 4 times more – 86(90-96-100) sts.  Work even until piece measures 13(13-13-1/2-13-1/2)” from beg.
Shape armholes:
Bind off 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows,  then 2(3-3-3) sts at beg of next 2 rows.
Dec row (RS):  K4, yo, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k to last 7 sts, k3tog, yo, k4.  Rep dec row every other row 5(5-6-6) times more – 62(64-68-72) sts.  Work even until armholes measure 6(6-1/2-7-7-1/2)”, end on WS.
Shape neck: Next row (RS):
K19(20-21-23) sts, join another ball of yarn and bind off center 24(24-26-26) sts, work to end.  Working both sides at once, bind off 3 sts at each neck edge once, then 2 sts once. When armholes measure 7(7-1/2-8-8-1/2)”, end on WS.  Bind off remaining 14(15-16-18) sts each side for shoulders.

 

FRONT
Work same as for back until piece measures 11-1/2(12-13-13-1/2)” from beg, end on WS.
Note:
  Please read through this section before starting to knit.
Beg V-neck detail: Row 1 (RS):
K43(45-48-50), yo needle once (for V-neck center), k to end.
Row 2 (WS): 
P to V-neck center, yo twice and drop previous yo, p to end.
Row 3:
K to V-neck center, yo 3 times and drop previous yo’s, k to end.
Row 4:
P to V-neck center, yo 3 times and drop previous yo’s, p to end.
Rows 5 and 6:
Rep rows 3 and 4.
Row 7:
K to V-neck center, yo 4 times and drop previous yo’s, k to end.
Row 8: P to V-neck center, yo 4 times and drop previous yo’s, p to end.  AT THE SAME TIME, when piece measures 13(13-13-1/2-13-1/2)” from beg, shape armholes same as for back.
Separate for V-neck: Next row (RS):
Continue with armhole shaping, work to center V-neck detail, drop previous yo's, join another ball of yarn and work to end.  Working both sides at once, work 1 row even.
Next (dec) Row (RS):
Work to last 6 sts of first side, k2tog, k3, p1; on 2nd side, p1, k3, SKP, work to end. Rep dec row every 4th row 3 times, then every other row 8(8-9-9) times – 19(20-21-23) sts remain each side.  Work even until armholes measure 7(7-1/2-8-8-1/2)”, end on WS.  On next row, bind off 19(20-21-23) sts of first side for left shoulder, sl first 5 sts of 2nd side to a holder (for back neck trim), bind off remaining 14(15-16-18) sts for right shoulder.

 

SLEEVES
With smaller needles, cast on 67(67-70-70) sts.  Work in k1, p2 rib as on back.  Change to larger needles and k next RS row dec 1 (0-dec1-inc1) st on row – 66(67-69-71) sts.  Work even in St st until piece measures 2” from beg, end on WS.
Dec row (RS):  K12, yo, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k to last 15 sts, k3tog, yo, k12.  Rep dec row every other row 6 times more – 52(53-55-57) sts.  Work even until piece measures 6-1/2” from beg, end on WS.
Inc row (RS):  K1, k into front and back of next st (inc 1), k to last 3 sts, inc 1 st in next st, k2.  Rep inc row  every 10th(8th-6th-6th) row 4(5-6-7) times more – 62(65-69-73) sts.  Work even until piece measures 14(14-14-1/2-14-1/2)” from beg, end on WS.
Shape cap:
Bind off 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows, then 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows.  Dec 1 st each side of next row then every other row 11(12-14-16) times more.  Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, then 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows.  Bind off remaining 16(17-17-17) sts.

 

FINISHING
Block pieces to measurements.  Sew shoulder seams, leaving 5 sts at neck edge of left side free.
Back neckband: 
With RS facing, using smaller needles, work across 5 sts of right front neckband from holder and work even until band fits along back neck, stretching slightly to fit. Sew inner edge of neckband to neck edge of sweater, then bind off 5 sts, adjusting length if necessary.  Sew bound-off edge of neckband to 5 bound-off sts at neck edge of left side.  Sew sleeves into armholes.  Sew side and sleeve seams.
