BERROCO ULTRA SILK (50 grs), 9(10-11-12-14-15-17) balls #6101 Ivory (MC).

BERROCO LAZER FX (10 grs), 3(3-3-3-4-4-4) balls each #6005 Jewel Tones (A) and #6002 Silver/White (B).

Straight knitting needles, sizes 8 and 10 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

Crochet hook, size 5.00 mm (H).

2 St holders.

2 St markers.

GAUGE

19 sts = 4”;  28 rows = 4” in St st with MC on size 10 needles.

TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

HORIZONTAL NET PATTERN – LOWER EDGE (Multiple of 2 sts)

Row 1 (RS):K1, * yo, k2tog, rep from * across, end k1.

Row 2: Purl.

Row 3: K1, * SSK, yo, rep from * across, end k1.

Row 4: Purl.

Rep Rows 1-4 for Horizontal Net Pat.

VERTICAL NET PATTERN – FRONT AND BACK (Multiple of 3 sts)

Row 1 (RS): * K1, (yo) twice, k2tog, rep from * across.

Row 2: Purl, purling first yo of each double yo once and dropping second yo off needle.

Row 3: * K2tog, (yo) twice, k1, rep from * across.

Row 4: Rep Row 2.

Rep Rows 1-4 for Vertical Net Pat.

BACK

With larger straight needles, using MC, cast on 66(70-76-80-90-100-110) sts. With MC, A and B held tog, work in Horizontal Net Pat until piece measures 1” from beg, end on WS.  Fasten off A and B.

Establish Vertical Net Pat: Row 1 (RS):With MC, k27(29-32-34-39-44-49), place marker, join A and B and with MC, A and B held tog, work Row 1 of Vertical Net Pat over 12 sts, place st marker, with MC, k27(29-32-34-39-44-49).

Row 2: With MC, p to 1st marker, with MC, A and B held tog work Row 2 of Horizontal Net Pat to 2nd marker, with MC, p to end.  Work even in pat as established until piece measures 7” from beg, end on WS.  AT THE SAME TIME, inc 1 st each side every  1/2” 6 times – 78(82-88-92-102-112-122) sts.

Shape Armhole: Bind off 2(2-3-3-3-4-4) sts at beg of the next 2(2-2-2-4-4-4) rows – 74(78-82-86-90-96-106) sts.

Dec Row (RS): K2, KSP, work to last 4 sts, SSK, k2 – 72(76-80-84-88-94-104) sts.  Rep this dec every other RS row 5(6-7-8-7-8-10) times more – 62(64-66-68-74-78-84) sts. Work even until armholes measure 7(7-7 1/2-8-8 1/2-9-9)”.  Bind off all sts for shoulders and back neck.

LEFT FRONT

With larger straight needles, using MC, cast on 34(36-38-40-46-50-56) sts. With MC, A and B held tog, work in Horizontal Net Pat until piece measures 1” from beg, end on WS.  Fasten off A and B.

Establish Vertical Net Pat:  Row 1 (RS):  With MC, k22(24-26-28-34-38-44), place marker, join A and B and with MC, A and B held tog, work Row 1 of Vertical Net Pat to end.

Row 2: With MC, A and B held tog, work Row 2 of Vertical Net Pat to marker, with MC, p to end,  Work even in pat as established until piece measures 7” from beg, end on WS.  AT THE SAME TIME, inc 1 st at side edge every  1/2” 6 times – 40(42-44-46-52-56-62) sts.

Shape Armhole: Bind off 2(2-3-3-3-4-4) sts at beg of every RS row 1(1-1-1-2-2-2) times – 38(40-41-43-46-48-54) sts.

Dec Row (RS): K2, KSP, work to end.  Rep this dec every other RS row 6(7-7-8-8-8-7) times more, - 31(32-33-34-37-39-46) sts. Work even until armhole measures 7(7-7 1/2-8-8 1/2-9-9)”, end on WS.

Shape Shoulders and Back Neckband:  Next Row (RS):  Bind off 19(20-21-22-25-27-34) sts, drop marker, work to end – 12 sts.  Work even in Vertical Net Pat as established on these 12 sts for 2 1/4”, end on WS.  Bind off all sts.

RIGHT FRONT

Work as for left front, reversing placement of Vertical Net Pat and all shaping.   Work armhole decs as SSK, k2.  Bind off for shoulder on WS.

SLEEVES

With larger straight needles, using MC, cast on 48(48-48-48-52-52-52) sts. With MC, A and B held tog, work in Horizontal Net Pat until piece measures 1” from beg, end on WS.  Fasten off A and B.  Using MC, work in St st until piece measures 2” from beg, end on WS.

Dec Row (RS):K1, KSP, work to last 3 sts, SSK, k1 – 46(46-46-46-50-50-50) sts. Rep this dec every 1” once more – 44(44-44-44-48-48-48) sts. Work even until piece measures 5” from beg, end on WS.

Inc Row (RS):K1, M1k, work to last st, M1k, k1 – 46(46-46-46-50-50-50) sts.  Rep this inc every 1/2” 1(1-3-7-7-11-15) times more, then every 1” 5(5-5-3-4-2-0) times – 58(58-62-66-72-76-80) sts. Work even until piece measures 12(12-12-12-13-13-13)” from beg, end on WS.

Shape Cap:  Bind off 2(2-3-3-3-4-4) sts at beg of the next 2(2-2-2-4-4-4) rows – 54(54-56-60-60-60-64) sts.

Dec Row (RS):  K2, KSP, work to last 4 sts, SSK, k2 – 52(52-54-58-58-58-62) sts.  Rep this dec every other RS row 2(2-3-4-6-6-6) times more, then every RS row 10(10-10-8-4-4-4) times, end on WS – 28(28-28-34-34-38-42) sts. Bind off all sts.

FINISHING

Steam pieces with hot steam iron and a pressing cloth.  Sew in sleeves.  Sew side and sleeve seams.  Sew bound-off edges of back neckband tog.  Sew inner edge of back neckband to back neck edge, stretching slightly.

Edging:  With RS facing, using crochet hook and MC, beg at center of back neckband, work in sc around neck, front and lower edges, join with a sl st in 1st sc.  Fasten off.

Ties (Make 2)

With smaller straight needles, using MC, cast on 6 sts.

Row 1 (RS):  Sl 1, k across.

Row 2:  Sl 1 p across.  Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 20” from beg, end on WS. Bind off all sts.  Sew one end of each tie to each lower front edge just above cast-on sts.
