BERROCO FURZ
(50 grs), 1 ball #3814 Roan (A) for Scarf, 1 ball for Hat.
BERROCO OPULENT FX (50 grs),
1 ball #7812 Polished Copper (B) for Scarf, 1 ball for Hat.
BERROCO ZAP (50 grs), 1 hank
#3530 Sable (C) for Hat.
Straight knitting needles, size 11 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE for Scarf.
Crochet hook, size 7.00 mm (K) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE for Hat.
GAUGE
10 sts = 4”; 16 rows = 4” in Stripe Pat on size 11 needles.
10 sc’s = 4”; 12 rows = 4” with K hook.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.
SCARF
With straight needles, using 1 strand each of A and B held tog,
cast on 15 sts. Knit 4 rows. * Working in St st, work 2 rows A,
then 2 rows B. Rep from * until scarf measures 51” from beg,
end on WS. With 1 strand each of A and B held tog, knit 4 rows.
Bind off all sts.
HAT
With crochet hook, using 1 strand each of A and B held tog, ch 6.
Join with a sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 8 sc’s in ring, join with a sl st
in ch-1 – 8 sc’s.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, * sc in next sc, 2 sc’s in next sc, rep
from * around, join with a sl st in ch-1 – 12 sc’s.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, * sc in next 2 sc’s, 2 sc’s in next
sc, rep from * around, join with a sl st in ch-1 – 16 sc’s.
Continue in this manner to inc 4 sts each rnd, having 1 more sc
between incs until 15 rnds have been worked and there are 64 sc’s
in last rnd.
Rnd 16: Ch 1, * sc in next 14 sc’s, dec 1 sc over next
2 sc’s, rep from * around, join with a sl st in ch-1 –
60 sc’s.
Rnd 17: Ch 1, work 1 sc in each sc around, join with a sl
st in ch-1 - 60 sc’s. Continue in this manner to dec 4 sc’s
every other rnd twice more, having 1 less sc between decs on each
rnd – 52 sc’s. Drop A and B and join 2 strands of C.
Band: With crochet hook, using 2 strands of C held tog, rep
Rnd 17 until band measures 1 1/2”. Fasten off.
