GAUGE10 sts = 4”; 14 rows = 4” in St st with A on size 17 needles. 19 sts = 4”; 26 rows = 4” in St st with B on size 8 needles. TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE. BACKSkirt: With larger needles, using A, cast on 63(67-71) sts. Work even in St st for 3(4-5)”, end on WS. K the next row, dec 12 sts evenly spaced across – 51(55-59) sts. Work even until piece measures 6(7-8)” from beg, end on WS. K the next row, dec 12 sts evenly spaced across – 39(43-47) sts. Work even until piece measures 9(10-11)” from beg, end on WS. K the next row, dec 12 sts evenly spaced across – 27(31-35) sts. Work even until piece measures 10(11-12)” from beg, end on RS. Bodice: Change to smaller needles and B. FINISHINGSteam bodice section of back and front. Sew shoulder seams. Neck Edging: With RS facing, using circular needle and B, beg at center back neck, pick up and k9(10-11) sts across half of back neck edge, 19 sts along inner edge of left shoulder strap, 18(19-21) sts across front neck edge, 19 sts along inner edge of right shoulder strap, then 9(9-10) sts across remaining half of back neck edge – 74(76-80) sts. Bind off all sts knitwise. Armhole Edging: With RS facing, using smaller straight needles and B, pick up and k49(53-57) sts along entire armhole edge. Bind off all sts purlwise. Sew side and armhole edging seams.
