One SizeSIZEApproximately 60” wide x 25” long (Not including fringe). MATERIALSBERROCO CALICO (50 grs), 12 balls #1836 Purple Power (MC). BERROCO SUEDE (50 grs), 2 balls #3745 Calamity Jane (CC). Straight knitting needles, size 11 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE. Crochet hook, size 4.50 mm (G). GAUGE16 sts = 4”; 18 rows = 4” in St st with MC on size 11 needles. TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE. SHAWLWith straight needles, using MC, cast on 4 sts. Row 1 (RS): K1, yo, k2 tog, yo, k1 – 5 sts. Row 2: P1, p in back and front of 1st yo, p to end – 6 sts. Row 3: K1, (yo, k2 tog) twice, yo, k1 – 7 sts. Row 4: Rep Row 2 – 8 sts. Row 5: K1, yo, * k2 tog, yo, rep from * to last st, end k1 – 9 sts. Row 6: Rep Row 2 – 10 sts. Rep Rows 5 and 6 until there are 146 sts on needle, end on WS. Piece should measure approximately 25” from beg. Bind off all sts. FINISHINGSteam shawl with hot steam iron and a pressing cloth. Fringe: Cut two 16” long strands of CC. Put strands tog and fold in half. With crochet hook, draw center of strands through 1st st of on cast-on edge of shawl forming a loop. Pull ends of fringe through this loop. In this manner, make fringe in all sts on cast-on edge of shawl. Make fringe in every row along short sides of shawl. Trim fringe to even off if necessary. Note: For speedier cutting, wrap yarn multiple times around a piece of cardboard that is the desired length of the fringe. Cut lower edge to free wrapped strands.
