SIZE
Approximately 10” wide x 7” long (Not including handles).
MATERIALS
BERROCO RUNWAY (50 grs), 1 ball #6584 Mannequin Teal (A).
BERROCO BLING BLING (50 grs), 1 ball #1528 Blue Note (B).
Straight knitting needles, size 8 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
Two 14” long pieces of 1/2” diameter clear plastic tubing (we
used aquarium tubing).
Tapestry needle.
GAUGE
17 sts = 4”; 24 rows = 4” in Stripe Pat with A or B on size 8 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.
STRIPE PATTERN
* With A, work 6 rows Reverse St st, end on WS; with B, work 6 rows St st, end on WS. Rep these 12 rows for Stripe Pat.
BAG
BACK
With straight needles, using A, cast on 43 sts. Work even in Stripe Pat until piece measures approximately 6 1/2” from beg, end with 2 rows A.
Shape Top: Using A, bind off 5 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then bind off 4 sts at beg of the next 2 rows. Bind off remaining 25 sts.
FRONT
Work same as for Back.
FINISHING
Using B, sew side and bottom edges of Back and Front together. Using Tapestry needle, poke a hole through both pieces of plastic tubing 1/2” in from each end. Thread needle with 1 strand each of A and B and draw through 1 piece of plastic tubing. Repeat for the other piece. Sewing through holes poked on each end, fasten ends of one piece of tubing to bound-off edge of Back 2” in from side seams. Fasten off strands drawn through tubing. In the same manner, fasten the other piece of tubing to bound-off edge of Front.
