Ina is a Suede™ crocheted and beaded bikini top that we have stitched to a “ready to wear” gauze skirt with elastic shirred waist, creating a fabulous summer dress.

BERROCO SUEDE (50 grs), 3 balls #3714 Hopalong Cassidy for all sizes

Crochet hook, size 4.00 mm (F) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Optional:  7 mm glass beads, 14 black, 24 green, 32 clear

Purchased skirt with wide elastic waistband

18 hdc = 4”;  11 rows = 4” in hdc with size 4.00 mm (F) crochet hook

BRA

With crochet hook, ch 64(72-81-89).  Work 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each of the next 28(32-37-41) ch’s across – 29(33-38-42) hdc’s.  Ch 2, turn.

Left Cup:  Row 1:  Work 1 hdc in 1st 11(13-15-17) hdc’s, 2 hdc’s in each of the next 7 hdc’s, then 1 hdc in each hdc to the end – 36(40-45-49) hdc’s.  Ch 2, turn.

Row 2:  Work 1 hdc in each hdc across.  Ch 2, turn.

Row 3:  Work 1 hdc in 1st 13(15-18-20) hdc’s, 2 hdc’s in next hdc, * 1 hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc’s in next hdc, rep from * 3 times more, 1 hdc in each hdc to the end – 41(45-50-54) hdc’s.  Ch 2, turn.

Rows 4 and 5: Dec 1 hdc at each end of row – 37(41-46-50) hdc’s.  Ch 2, turn.

Row 6:  Work 1 hdc in 1st 14(16-19-21) hdc’s, dec 1 hdc, (1 hdc in next hdc, dec 1 hdc) twice, 1 hdc in each hdc to the end – 34(38-43-47) hdc’s.  Ch 2, turn.

Row 7:  Rep Row 4 – 32(36-41-45) hdc’s.  Ch 2, turn.

Row 8:  Work 1 hdc in 1st 10(13-15-17) hdc’s, dec 1 hdc, work 1 hdc in next 8 hdc’s, dec 1 hdc, work 1 hdc in each hdc to the end – 30(34-39-43) hdc’s.  Ch 2, turn.

Rows 9-15:  Rep Row 4 – 16(20-25-29) hdc’s.  Ch 2, turn.

Row 16:  * Dec 1 hdc, rep from * across, end hdc in last 0

(0-1-1) hdc – 8(10-13-15) hdc’s.  Ch 2, turn.

Row 17:  Dec 2(4-7-9) hdc’s evenly spaced across – 6 hdc’s.  Fasten off.

Right Cup:  Skip 5 ch’s on starting ch.  Work 1 hdc in each of the remaining ch’s across – 29(33-38-42) hdc’s.  Complete same as for Left Cup.

FINISHING

Join yarn at lower left corner of Left Cup.  Work in sc along left side, across top, then down right side of Left Cup;  work 1 sc in each of the 5 ch’s in center, work in sc along left side, across top, then down right side of Right Cup.  Fasten off.

Neck Cords (Make 2):  Leaving a 10” long strand of yarn at start, make a ch 12” long.  Work 1 sc in each ch across.  Fasten off, leaving a 10” long strand of yarn.  Thread 1 black bead onto both strands held tog.  Thread 2 clear beads, then 2 green beads onto each strand.  Thread 2 black beads onto both strands held tog.  Thread 2 green beads, then 2 clear beads onto each strand.  Sew 1 strand to each end of last row at top of Left Cup.  Repeat for Right Cup.

Edging:  Row 1:  With RS facing, join yarn at top of Left Cup just inside of beads, ch 5, * skip 2 sc’s, sc in each of the next 2 sc’s,  rep from * to top of Right Cup just inside of beads.  Turn.

Row 2:  * Ch 3, sc in 3rd ch of ch-5 loop, ch 3, sc in each of the next 2 sc’s, rep from * across, end ch 3, sc in last sc.  Fasten off.

Back Cords (Make 2):  Make a ch 13” long. Work 1 sc in each ch across.  Fasten off.  Sew to end of starting ch at left side of Left Cup.  Repeat for Right Cup.  Sew lower edge of bra to top of purchased skirt.  Tie neck cords and back cords tog at shoulders crossing in back.
