Indra
in Softy

Skill level: Very easy

One Size.

SIZE
8” wide x 46” long.

MATERIALS
BERROCO SOFTY (50 grs), 4 balls #2931 Chiffon.
Straight knitting needles, size 15 or size to obtain gauge.
1 1/2 yards of 1 1/2” wide ribbon in matching color.

GAUGE
9 stitches = 4”;  18 rows = 4” in Stockinette Stitch (knit 1 row, purl 1 row) with 2 strands of yarn held together. TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

NOTE
Softy is a thick-and-thin yarn.  When working with 2 strands held together, start by laying the strands out so that the thick area of one strand is next to the thin area of the other strand.  This will help keep the thickness of your garment consistent, without extremely thick or thin areas.

SCARF
With straight needles, using 2 strands of yarn held together, cast on 100 stitches.  Work even in Stockinette Stitch for 8”, end when you have just completed a purl row.  Bind off all stitches.

FINISHING
Cut piece of ribbon in half.  Place scarf around neck as in photo and mark where you want the bow to be placed.  Sew one end of each piece of ribbon to wrong side of inner edge of scarf at markers, turning end under to hide raw edge.  Tie ribbon as shown in photo.
