Bust – 36(40-44-48-54)".
Length – 21 1/2(22-22 1/2-23-23 1/2)".

MATERIALS
BERROCO RASTA (50 grs), 14(15-16-17-18) hanks #6811 Montego Bay.
Straight knitting needles, sizes 8 and 10 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
16" length circular knitting needle, size 8.
2 St Holders.
2 St Markers.
Three 1" buttons.

GAUGE
15 sts = 4"; 22 rows = 4" in St st and Rib Pat.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

STITCH GLOSSARY
KSP
K1, then sl st back to LH needle, lift 2nd st on LH needle back over returned st and replace returned st on RH needle (1 st dec’d).

RIB PAT
Row 1 (RS): K4, * p2, k4, rep from * across.
Row 2: Purl.
Rep these 2 rows for Rib Pat.

BACK
With larger straight needles, cast on 76(82-88-94-106) sts. Purl 3 rows. Beg with a k row, work even in St st until piece measures 3 1/2" from beg, end on WS. Work in Rib Pat for 2 rows. Dec 1 st at each end of the next row. Work in pat as established until piece measures 8" from beg, then work all sts in St st. AT THE SAME TIME, continue to dec 1 st at each side every 2 1/2(4-4-8-8)" 3(2-2-1-1) times more. Work even on 68(76-82-90-102) sts until piece measures 12 1/2" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Armholes: Row 1 (RS): K2, KSP, k to last 4 sts, sl 1, k1, psso, k2. Rep this dec every RS row 0(0-0-2-8) times more, then every other RS row 5(5-5-4-1) times. Work even on 56(64-70-76-82) sts until armholes measure 8(8 1/2-9-9 1/2-10)", end on WS.
Shape Shoulders and Neck: Bind off 5(5-6-8-9) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then 4(6-7-7-8) sts at beg of the next 4 rows. Bind off remaining 30(30-30-32-32) sts for back neck.

FRONT
Work same as for back until armholes measure approximately 1/2(1-1 1/2-2-2 1/2)", and 66(72-78-82-88) sts remain, end on RS.
Next Row (WS): P30(33-36-39-41), place marker, p6, place marker, p to end.
Divide for Placket: Left Side: Row 1 (RS): Continuing armhole decs, work to first marker, dropping markers, sl remaining 36(39-42-45-47) sts onto holder for right side.
Next Row (WS): Cast on 6 sts, p to end. Keeping 1 st at front edge in Garter St and remaining sts in St st, continue to shape armhole same as for back until 31(35-38-41-44) sts remain. Work even until armhole measures 6 1/2(7-7 1/2-8-8 1/2)", end on RS.
Shape Neck: Next Row (WS): P6 sts, then sl them onto holder; bind off 3 sts, p to end. Bind off 3(3-3-4-4) sts at neck edge once, 2 sts twice, then dec 1 st at neck edge every RS row twice. When armhole measures 8(8 1/2-9-9 1/2-10)", end on WS. Shape shoulder same as for back.
Right Side: With RS facing, leave first 6 sts on holder, drop marker and sl remaining sts onto larger straight needle; join yarn and work to end. Continue to shape armhole same as for back until 25(29-32-35-38) sts remain. Work even until armhole measures 6 1/2(7-7 1/2-8-8 1/2)", end on WS.
Shape Neck: Next Row (RS): Bind off 3 sts, p to end. Complete to correspond to left front, reversing all shaping.

SLEEVES
With straight needles, cast on 30(30-32-32-34) sts. Purl 3 rows. Beg with a k row, work even in St st until sleeve measures 1" from beg, end on WS. Inc 1 st each side of next row, then every 6th row 0(0-1-9-13) times more, every 8th row 0(7-10-4-1) times, every 10th row 5(3-0-0-0) times, and every 12th row 3(0-0-0-0) times. Work even on 48(52-56-60-64) sts until sleeve measures 17 1/2" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Cap: Row 1 (RS): K2, KSP, k to last 4 sts, sl 1, k1, psso, k2. Rep this dec every RS row 6(6-6-8-8) times more, then every other RS row 2(2-2-1-1) time, end on WS. Bind off remaining 30(34-38-40-44) sts.

FINISHING
Steam pieces lightly. Sew shoulder seams.
Note: Make buttonholes on RS rows as k2, k2 tog, yo, k2.
Right Frontband: With RS facing, sl 6 sts from holder onto smaller straight needle. Inc 1 st at inside edge, then work even in Garter St on 7 sts until band, when slightly stretched, reaches first group of bound-off sts at neck edge. AT THE SAME TIME, make buttonholes as in note when frontband measures 2", then 4". When frontband is completed, end on WS, dec 1 st at beg of last row. Sl remaining 6 sts onto holder. Sew inner edge of band to right front edge of placket opening.
Neckband: With RS facing, using circular needle, join yarn at right front edge, k6 sts from right holder, pick up and k12 sts along right front neck edge, 30(30-30-32-32) sts across back neck edge, 12 sts along left front neck edge, then k6 sts from left holder – 66(66-66-68-68) sts. Knit 1 row. Work even in Garter St for 1", making last buttonhole in next row. Bind off all sts. Sew in sleeves and sew side and sleeve seams. Sew on buttons.
