Row 2 and all WS rows: * P12, k5, rep from * to last 12 sts, end p12. Row 3: * K2 tog, yo, sl 4 sts to cn and hold in BACK, k4, k4 from cn, k2 tog, yo, p2, k1, p2, rep from * to last 12 sts, end k2 tog, yo, sl 4 sts to cn and hold in BACK, k4, k4 from cn, k2 tog, yo. Rows 5 and 7: Rep Row 1. Row 8: Rep Row 2. Rep these 8 rows for Cable Pat. BODY With straight needles, cast on 137(137-143) sts. Establish Pat St: Row 1 (RS): K2, p1(1-4), work Row 1 of Cable Pat to last 3(3-6) sts, end p1(1-4), k2. Row 2: K3(3-6), work Row 2 of Cable Pat to last 3(3-6) sts, k to end. Work even in pat as established until piece measures 10½” from beg, end on WS. Shape Left Armhole: Next Row (RS): Work 76(76-82) sts, then sl remaining 61 sts onto holder for lower section. Upper Section: Work 1 row even. Dec Row 1 (RS): Work to last 2 sts, k2 tog. Rep this dec every RS row 20(24-26) times more – 55(51-55) sts. Work even until armhole measures 6(6¼-6½)”, end on WS. Sl sts onto second holder. Lower Section: With RS facing, sl 61 sts from first holder onto straight needle. Join yarn and bind off 6 sts, work to end – 55 sts. Work even for 1”, end on WS. Inc Row (RS): K1, M1, work to end. Continue to inc at beg of every RS row in this manner, working incs into Cable Pat as sts become available, 20(24-26) times more, end on RS – 76(80-82) sts. Joining Row (WS): Work 76(80-82) sts, cast on 6 sts, then work 55(51-55) sts from first holder – 137(137-143) sts. Work even in Cable Pat until piece measures 13(14-15)” above Joining Row, end on WS. Shape Right Armhole: Next Row (RS): Work 55(51-55) sts, then sl remaining 82(86-88) sts onto first holder for lower section. Upper Section: Work even for 1”, end on WS. Rep this dec every RS row 22 times more, end on WS – 9(15-19) sts. Bind off 2 sts at beg of the next 2 rows. Bind off remaining 5(11-15) sts. FINISHING Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeve caps into armholes with sleeve seams at points marked with X on schematic.
