MATERIALS
BERROCO SOFTY (50 grs), 5(6) balls #2967 Violetta.
Straight knitting needles, size 10 1/2 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
3/4 Yd. of 1/2” wide no-roll elastic.

GAUGE
16 sts = 4”;  24 rows = 4” in St st on size 10 1/2 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

BACK
With straight needles, cast on 46(50) sts.  Work even in St st for 1”, end on RS.  Knit the next row for turning ridge.  Work even in St st until piece measures 7” from beg, end on WS.
Dec Row (RS):  K1, SSK, k to last 3 sts, k2 tog, k1.  Rep this dec every 5(5 1/2)” twice more – 40(44) sts,  Work even until piece measures 19(20)” from beg, end on WS.  Mark beg and end of last row for beg of armholes.
Shape Armholes:  Dec Row (RS):  K1, SSK, k to last 3 sts, k2 tog, k1 – 38(42) sts.  Rep this dec every RS row 3 times more – 32(36) sts.  Work even until armholes measure 4 1/2(5)” above markers, end on WS. 
Shape Neck and Shoulder Extensions:  Next Row (RS):  K7(8), join another ball of yarn and bind off center 18(20) sts for back neck, k to end.  Mark st at each neck edge for beg of shoulder extensions.  Note:  Work neck decs on RS rows as k2 tog.  Work neck decs on WS rows as p2 tog.  Working on both sides at once, dec 1 st at neck edge as in note EVERY row 3(5) times, then every other row 3(2) times.  Fasten off last st each side.

FRONT
Work same as for back until armholes measure 3(3 1/2)” above markers, end on WS – 32(36) sts,
Shape Neck:  Next Row (RS):  K9(10), join another ball of yarn and bind off center 14(16) sts for front neck, k to end,  Working both sides at once, dec 1 st at each neck edge EVERY row twice as in note for back – 7(8) sts each side.  Work even until armholes measure 4 1/2(5)”, end on RS.  Mark beg and end of last row for beg of shoulder extensions.
Shoulder Extensions:  Still working both sides at once, dec 1 st as in note EVERY row 3(5) times, then every other row 3(2) times.  Fasten off last st each side.

SLEEVES
With straight needles, cast on 26(28) sts.  Work even in St st for 1”, end on WS.
Inc Row (RS):  K1, M1k, k to last st, M1k, k1 – 28(30) sts.  Rep this inc every 5(3)” 1(2) times more – 30(34) sts.  Work even until sleeve measures 7(8)”from beg, end on WS.  Mark beg and end of last row for beg of cap.
Shape Cap:  Dec Row (RS):  K1, SSK, k to last 3 sts, k2 tog, k1 – 28(32) sts.  Rep this dec every RS row 7 times more, end on WS.  Bind off remaining 14(18) sts.

FINISHING
Match markers at each side of neck and pin tog.  Fold front shoulder extensions down inside of back armholes so that the side edges are even with back armholes.  Sew tog along armhole edges.  Fold back shoulder extensions down outside of front armholes so that the side edges are even with front armholes.  Sew tog along armhole edges.  Sew in sleeves.  Sew side and sleeve seams.  Fold lower edge to inside along turning ridge forming a casing and sew in place leaving a 1 1/2” opening at left side seam.  Cut elastic to desired length.  Draw elastic through casing and sew cut ends tog being careful not to twist elastic.  Sew opening in casing tog.
