Mita is a dressy knit mini bag with bracelets for handles.

 

SIZE

Approximately 6 1/2” wide x 5” tall (Not including handles)

 

MATERIALS

1 Ball BERROCO YOGA (50 grs), #6402 Swami

Straight knitting needles, size 11 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Two 3” diameter round bangle bracelets

 

GAUGE

18 sts = 4”;  16 rows = 4” in k1, p1 ribbing

TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE

 

BACK

With straight needles, cast on 39 sts.

Row 1 (RS):  K1, * p1, k1, rep from * across.

Row 2:  Work in ribbing as established over 18 sts, k3 tog, work in ribbing as established to end – 37 sts.

Row 3:  Work even in ribbing as established.

Row 4:  Work in ribbing as established over 17 sts, k3 tog, work in ribbing as established to end – 35 sts.  Continue in this way to dec 2 sts every other row, having 1 less st before and after center dec until 11 sts remain.  Bind off.

 

FRONT

Work same as back.

 

FINISHING

Fold bound-off edge of each piece over a bangle bracelet and sew on WS.  Sew pieces tog from 1 1/2” below bracelet on one side to 1 1/2” below bracelet on the other.
