MATERIALS
BERROCO HUSH (50 grs), 1 ball #6307 Down Dilly (MC).
BERROCO LULLABY (50 grs), 1 ball #4207 Quince (CC).
Straight knitting needles, sizes 6 and 11 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
Crochet hook, size 4.50 mm (G).

GAUGE
12 sts = 4”;  16 rows = 4” in St st with MC on size 11 needles,
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

HAT
With smaller straight needles, using CC, cast on 69(73) sts.
Row 1 (RS):  K1, * p1, k1, rep from * across.
Row 2:  P1, * k1, p1, rep from * across.  Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 1 1/4” from beg, end on RS.  Change to larger needles and MC and p the next row, dec 23 sts evenly spaced across – 46(50) sts.  Work even in St st until piece measures 4 1/4(4 3/4)” from beg, end on WS.
Dec Row 1 (RS):  K1, * k2 tog, k1, rep from * across, end k0(1) – 31(34) sts.  Purl 1 row.
Dec Row 2 (RS):  K1(0), * k2 tog, rep from * across – 16(17) sts,  Purl 1 row.
Dec Row 3 (RS):  K0(1), * k2 tog, rep from * across – 8(9) sts.  Cut yarn, leaving a 12” long end for sewing.  Draw end through all sts on needle and pull up tightly.  Fasten securely,

FINISHING
Sew back seam down to CC band.  Fasten off.  Using CC, sew remaining back seam.
Top Loop:  With RS facing, using crochet hook, join a double strand of CC to center top of hat.  Make a chain 1 1/2” long, join with a sl st top of hat.  Fasten off.
