SIZE

Approximately 9” across x 8” high (With top folded down)

 

MATERIALS

2 Balls BERROCO MEMOIRS (50 grs), #7708 Sanguine

16” Length circular knitting needle, size 10 1/2 (7.00 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

1 St marker

Tapestry needle

One 20” long braided leather handle from Homestead Heirlooms

(actually 26" long with 3" either end being sewn down on bag.)

 

GAUGE

14 sts = 4”;  18 rows = 4” in St st

TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE

 

BAG

With circular needle, cast on 63 sts.  Join, being careful not to twist sts.  Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up.  Work even in St st (k EVERY rnd) for 15”.  Bind off.

 

FINISHING

Fold bag flat and sew cast-on edge tog.  Measure down 7” from bound-off edge on each side and mark for handle.  Sew one end of handle to side of bag at each marker.  Fold top edge of bag down as in photo.
