MATERIALS
BERROCO GLACE (50 grs), 6(7-8-9-10-11) hanks #2012 Black (MC).
BERROCO LAZER FX (10 grs), 2(2-2-3-3-3) balls #6003 Gold/Black (CC).
Straight knitting needles, sizes 5 and 7 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
29" length circular knitting needle, size 5.

GAUGE
5 sts = 1"; 7 rows = 1" in St st on size 7 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

NOTE 1
CC should be added to MC every 3rd row over St st sections. Simply work both yarns held tog on that row.

NOTE 2
When CC is not in use, it may be carried loosely up the side of work.

FRONT
With smaller straight needles, using MC, cast on 83(89-99-111-121-135) sts.
Row 1 (RS): K1, * p1, k1, rep from * across.
Row 2: P1, * k1, p1, rep from * across. Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 1" from beg, end on WS, dec 0(1-1-1-1-0) st at end of last row – 83(88-98-110-120-135) sts. Change to larger needles and work in St st, adding CC as in Note 1 until piece measures 3" from beg, end on WS.
Dec Row (RS): K16(17-18-19-20-21), SSK, k47(50-58-68-76-89), k2 tog, k16(17-18-19-20-21). Continue to dec in this manner 16(17-18-19-20-21) sts in from each edge every 10th row once, then every 8th row once. Work even on 77(82-92-104-114-129) sts until piece measures 7 1/2" from beg, end on WS. Inc 1 st at end of next row. Rep this inc every 16th row twice more. Work even on 83(88-98-110-120-135) sts until piece measures 14" from beg, end on WS.
Shape Neck and Armhole: Bind off 5 sts at beg of the next 2 rows.
Note: When binding off on WS rows from this point on, sl the first st to minimize jagged
edge.
Row 3 (RS): K2, K2SP, k to end.
Row 4: Bind off 4(5-7-10-12-15) sts, p to end. Rep these 2 rows once more, end on WS.
Row 7 (RS): K2, KSP, k to end.
Row 8: Bind off 4(5-7-9-11-16) sts, p to end.
Row 9: K2, KSP, k to last 5 sts, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k2.
Row 10: Purl. Rep Rows 9 and 10 3 times more, end on WS.
Next Row (RS): K to last 5 sts, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k2. Continue to dec 2 sts at neck edge every RS row 16(17-19-21-23-25) times more – 10 sts. Work even until armhole measures 7(7 1/2-8-8 1/2-9-9 1/2)", end on WS.
Shape Shoulder: Bind off 4 sts at armhole edge once, then 3 sts at armhole edge twice.

BACK
Work same as for Front, reversing all shaping. Work armhole decs as sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k2, then SKP, k2. Work neck decs as K2SP.

FINISHING
Steam pieces lightly. Sew shoulder seam.
Neckband: With RS facing, using circular needle and MC, beg at bound-off sts of back neck, pick up and k79(81-86-92-97-104) sts along back neck edge, 1 st in shoulder seam, then 79(81-86-92-97-104) sts along front neck edge – 159(163-173-185-195-209) sts Beg with Row 2, work in ribbing same as for back for 3/4", end on WS. Bind off all sts in ribbing.
Armbands: With RS facing, using circular needle and MC, pick up and k79(85-89-95-99-105) sts evenly spaced around entire armhole edge. Beg with Row 2, work in ribbing same as for back for 3/4", end on WS. Bind off all sts in ribbing. Sew side, neck and armband seams.
