SIZES FINISHED MEASUREMENTS MATERIALS GAUGE NOTE MOSS STITCH (Even number of sts) LOWER BACK With straight needles, cast on 68(78-86-94-102-112) sts. Knit 1 row. Purl 1 row for Garter Ridge. Beg with a p row, work even in St st until piece measures 14 1/2(15-15-15½-15½-16)” from beg, end on WS. Bind off. LOWER FRONT Work same as lower back. SLEEVES/YOKE With straight needles, cast on 64(68-74-74-78-78) sts (this is the edge of left sleeve). Work even in Moss St until sleeve measures 18” from beg, end on WS. Mark beg and end of last row for beg of yoke. Work even until yoke measures 2½(3½-4½-5½-6½-7½)” above markers, end on WS. Divide for Neck: Next Row (RS): Work 32(34-37-37-39-39) sts, join another hank of yarn and work to end. Working both sides at once with separate hanks of yarn, work even until yoke measures 11” above dividing row, end on WS. Joining Row (RS): Work 32(34-37-37-39-39) sts with first hank of yarn, fasten off second hank and work to end with first hank – 64(68-74-74-78-78) sts. Work even until yoke measures 16(18-20-22-24-26)” above markers, end on WS. Mark beg and end of last row for beg of right sleeve. Work even until sleeve measures 18” above markers, end on RS. Bind off in Moss St. FINISHING Sew edges of yoke between markers to bound-off edges of lower back and lower front. Sew side and sleeve seams. |
