Straight knitting needles, size 11 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.

16 sts = 4” in Broken Rib Pat.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

BROKEN RIB PATTERN
Row 1:  * K2, p2, rep from * to last st, end k1.
Rep this row for Broken Rib Pat.

SHRUG
With straight needles, cast on 89 sts.  Work even in Broken Rib Pat until piece measures 50” from beg.  Bind off all sts in Pat St.

FINISHING
Fold shrug along dotted lines shown on Schematic.  Sew seams with matching letters shown on diagram tog, leaving 5” open at each outside corner between markers for hands.  Shrug may be worn either with seam at shoulders or at underarms.
