SIZE Approximately 6” wide x 76” long
MATERIALS 3 Hanks BERROCO ULTRA ALPACA (100 grs), #6208 Couscous Straight knitting needles, size 8 (5.00 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE 29” Length circular knitting needle, size 8 (5.00 mm) GAUGE20 sts = 4”; 26 rows = 4” in St st TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE STITCH GLOSSARYKnit-on methodCast on 2 sts using your usual method. * Insert RH needle into the space between the 1st and 2nd sts, yo, pull through a loop, then sl loop to LH needle. Rep from * until desired number of sts are on LH needle. SCARFWith straight needles, cast on 28 sts using knit-on method. Rows 1 – 6: Knit. Row 7 (RS): Bind off 26 sts, k to end. Row 8: K2, cast on 26 sts using knit-on method. Rep these 8 rows 58 times more. Work Rows 1 – 6 once more. Bind off. FINISHINGRight Edge: With RS facing, using circular needle, pick up and k300 sts along connected edge of scarf. Note: Pick up sts 1/2 st in from edge to minimize the ridge on the WS. Rows 1 and 2: Knit. Row 3 (RS): P2, * yo, p2 tog, rep from * across. Rows 4, 5 and 6: Knit. Bind off knitwise. Left Edge: ** Lay scarf down in front of you with the RS facing and unconnected edge facing away from you. Pick up the end of the first unconnected segment and flip it over to the left twice forming a corkscrew twist. With circular needle, pick up 5 sts along the edge of segment. Rep from * until all segments are twisted – 300 sts. Work Rows 1-6 same as right edge. Felt scarf in washing machine using hot water and soap. Check often as machine runs through its cycles. Remove, shape and allow to air dry.
