13 Hanks BERROCO ULTRA ALPACA (100 grs), #6229 Sweet Potato

29” Length circular knitting needle, size 8 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Cable needle (cn)

GAUGE

20 sts = 4”;  28 rows = 4” in Double Seed St on size 8 needles

13 sts = 2”;  28 rows = 4” in Cable Pat on size 8 needles

STITCH GLOSSARY

CF3

Sl 2 sts to cn and hold in FRONT, p1, then k2 from cn

CB3

Sl 1 st to cn and hold in BACK, k2, then p1 from cn

CB4

Sl 2 sts to cn and hold in BACK, k2, then k2 from cn

CF4

Sl 2 sts to cn and hold in FRONT, k2, then k2 from cn

DOUBLE SEED ST

Row 1 (WS):  * K1, p1, rep from * across.

Row 2:  * P1, k1, rep from * across.

Row 3:  Rep Row 2.

Row 4:  Rep Row 1.

Rep these 4 rows for Double Seed St.

CABLE PATTERN (Worked over 13 sts)

Row 1 (WS):  K3, p4, k2, p2, k2.

Row 2:  P2, CF3, CB3, CF3, p2.

Row 3:  K2, p2, k2, p4, k3.

Row 4:  P3, CB4, p2, k2, p2.

Row 5:  K2, p2, k2, p4, k3.

Row 6:  P2, CB3, CF3, CB3, p2.

Row 7:  K3, p4, k2, p2, k2.

Row 8:  P2, k2, p2, CF4, p3.

Rep these 8 rows for Cable Pat.

THROW

With circular needle, cast on 263 sts.  DO NOT join.

Establish Pat Sts:  Row 1 (WS):  Work Row 1 of Double Seed St over 10 sts, * work Row 1 of Cable Pat over 13 sts, work Row 1 of Double Seed St over 10 sts, rep from * across.

Row 2:  Work Row 2 of Double Seed St over 10 sts, * work Row 2 of Cable Pat over 13 sts, work Row 2 of Double Seed St over 10 sts, rep from * across.  Work even in pats as established until piece measures 60” from beg, end on WS.  Bind off.
