BACK

With straight needles, cast on 102(122-142-162) sts.

Establish Pat St: Set-Up Row (WS): K0(10-2-12), place marker for larger 3 sizes, work Set-Up row of Cable Pat for Body over 102(102,138,138) sts, place marker for larger 3 sizes, k0(10-2-12).

Row 1 (RS): P to first marker, work Row 1 of Cable Pat for Body to last marker, p to end. Keeping 0(10-2-12) sts at each edge in Reverse St st and remaining sts in Cable Pat for Body, work even until piece measures approximately 16” from beg, end on WS with Row 36 of Cable Pat for Body.

Shape Armholes:  Bind off 5(6-8-10) sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 92(110-126-142) sts.  Dec 1 st at each armhole edge every RS row 3(6-8-11) times – 86(98-110-120) sts.  Work even until armholes measure 7 1/2(8-8 1/2-9)”, end on WS.  Shape Shoulders:  Bind off 13(16-18-20) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then 13(16-17-20) sts at beg of the next 2 rows.  Bind off remaining 34(34-40-40) sts for back neck.

FRONT

Work same as back until armholes measure approximately 2 1/2”, end on WS with Row 52 of Cable Pat for Body.  Mark the center 2 sts on needle.

Shape V-Neck:  Dec Row (RS):  Continuing to work armhole decs if necessary, work to 3 sts before first marker, k2 tog, p1; sl center 2 sts onto holder, join another ball of yarn; p1, SSK, work to end.  Working both sides at once, dec 1 st at each neck edge in this manner every RS row 15(15-18-18) times more – 26(32-35-40) sts each side.  Work even if necessary until armholes measure 7 1/2(8-8 1/2-9)”, end on same row of Cable Pat for Body as back.

Shape Shoulders:  Bind off 13(16-18-20) sts at each armhole edge once, then 13(16-17-20) sts once.

SLEEVES

With straight needles, cast on 48 sts.  Work even in Cable Pat for Sleeves for 1”, end on WS.  Inc 1 st each end of next row, then every 1(3/4-3/4-1/2)” 14(16-19-21) times more, working incs in Reverse St st – 78(82-88-92) sts.  Work even until sleeve measures 16” from beg, end on WS.

Shape Cap:  Bind off 5(6-8-10) sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 68(70-72-72) sts.  Dec 1 st each side every RS row 12(8-6-2) times, then every other RS row 0(2-3-5) times, end on WS.  Bind off remaining 44(50-54-58) sts.

FINISHING

Sew shoulder seams.

Turtleneck:  With RS facing, sl 2 sts from holder onto straight needle and join yarn.

Row 1 (RS):  P2, pick up and k1 sts along right front neck edge – 3 sts.  Turn.

Row 2 (WS):  P1, k2, pick up and p 1 st along left front neck edge – 4 sts. Turn.

Row 3 (RS):  K1, p2, k1, pick up and k 1 st along right front neck edge – 5 sts. Turn.

Row 4 (WS):  P2, k2, p1, pick up and p 1 st along left front neck edge – 6 sts. Turn.

Row 5 (RS):  K2, p2, k2, pick up and k 1 st along right front neck edge – 7 sts. Turn. Continue in this manner to pick up 1 st along alternating front neck edges at the end of every row until you have a total of 50(50-54-54) sts on your needle, end on WS.  Note: Pick up sts evenly spaced so that work lies flat.  With RS facing, using shorter circular needle, work 50(50-54-54) sts from straight needle in ribbing as established, then pick up and k42(42-46-46) sts across back neck edge – 92(92-100-100) sts.  Join, mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up.  Work even in k2, p2 ribbing as established for 6”.  Bind off loosely in ribbing.  Sew in sleeves.  Sew side and sleeve seams.

SCARF

With straight needles, cast on 48 sts.  Work even in Cable Pat for sleeves for 58”, end on WS.  Bind off.

Edging: With RS facing, using longer circular needle, beg at one corner, pick up and k193 sts along one long edge of scarf.

Row 1 (WS):  P1, * k1, p1, rep from * across.

Row 2:  K in front and back of first st, * p1, k1, rep from * to last 2 sts, p1, k in front and back of last st – 195 sts.  Work in ribbing as established.  Inc 1 st at each end of every RS row, working incs into ribbing until edging measures 1”, end on WS.  Bind off in ribbing.  Repeat on the other long edge of scarf.  With RS facing, using shorter circular needle, beg at one corner, pick up and k45 sts along one short edge of scarf.  Work in same manner as edging on long edges.  Repeat on the other short edge of scarf.  Sew corners tog.
