Row 1 (RS): P2, pick up and k1 sts along right front neck edge – 3 sts. Turn. Row 2 (WS): P1, k2, pick up and p 1 st along left front neck edge – 4 sts. Turn. Row 3 (RS): K1, p2, k1, pick up and k 1 st along right front neck edge – 5 sts. Turn. Row 4 (WS): P2, k2, p1, pick up and p 1 st along left front neck edge – 6 sts. Turn. Row 5 (RS): K2, p2, k2, pick up and k 1 st along right front neck edge – 7 sts. Turn. Continue in this manner to pick up 1 st along alternating front neck edges at the end of every row until you have a total of 50(50-54-54) sts on your needle, end on WS. Note: Pick up sts evenly spaced so that work lies flat. With RS facing, using shorter circular needle, work 50(50-54-54) sts from straight needle in ribbing as established, then pick up and k42(42-46-46) sts across back neck edge – 92(92-100-100) sts. Join, mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Work even in k2, p2 ribbing as established for 6”. Bind off loosely in ribbing. Sew in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams. SCARFWith straight needles, cast on 48 sts. Work even in Cable Pat for sleeves for 58”, end on WS. Bind off. Edging: With RS facing, using longer circular needle, beg at one corner, pick up and k193 sts along one long edge of scarf. Row 1 (WS): P1, * k1, p1, rep from * across. Row 2: K in front and back of first st, * p1, k1, rep from * to last 2 sts, p1, k in front and back of last st – 195 sts. Work in ribbing as established. Inc 1 st at each end of every RS row, working incs into ribbing until edging measures 1”, end on WS. Bind off in ribbing. Repeat on the other long edge of scarf. With RS facing, using shorter circular needle, beg at one corner, pick up and k45 sts along one short edge of scarf. Work in same manner as edging on long edges. Repeat on the other short edge of scarf. Sew corners tog.
