FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Bust - 33(34 1/2-39 1/2-43-47-50 1/2)”
Length – 21(21 1/2-22-22 1/2-23-23)”

MATERIALS
BERROCO FOLIAGE (50 grs), 7(7,9,10,12) balls #5935 Winterhazel (MC) for Sweater, 3 balls for Scarf and 2 balls #5985 Statice (A) for Scarf.
BERROCO SUEDE (50 grs), 1 ball each #3715 Tonto (B), #3769 Sundance Kid (C) and #3751 Kitty (D).
Straight knitting needles, sizes 9 and 11 for sweater and 10½ for Scarf OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
16” length circular knitting needle, size 9.
3 St markers for Sweater (1 a different color).
2 St holders for Scarf.
Tapestry needle.

GAUGE
13 sts = 4”; 18 rows = 4” in St st with MC on size 11 needles.
22 sts = 4” in k1, p1 ribbing with MC on size 9 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

SWEATER

BACK
With smallest needles and MC, cast on 58(62-72-82-92-102) sts.
Row 1:  * K1, p1, repeat from * across.  Rep this row until piece measures 5 1/2” from beg, end on WS. Change to size 11 needles and knit 1 row, dec 4(6-8-12-16-20) sts evenly spaced across row – 54(56-64-70-76-82) sts. Beg with a p row, work even in St st until piece measures 14 1/2” from beg, end on WS.
Shape Raglan Armholes:  Bind off 2(2-4-5-5-7) sts at beg of
the next 2 rows – 50(52-56-60-66-68) sts.
For Sizes XS and M ONLY: Dec Row 1 (RS): K5, k2 tog, k to last 7 sts, SSK, k5 – 48(54) sts.  Rep this dec every other RS row 0(1) time more, end on WS – 48(52) sts. Work even for 2 rows, end on WS.
For ALL Sizes: Dec Row 2 (RS): K5, k3 tog, k to last 8 sts, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k5 – 44(48-48-56-62-64) sts. Rep this dec every other RS row 6(7-6-8-9-9) times more – 20(20-24-24-26-28) sts. Bind off all sts for back neck

FRONT
Work same as for back to beg of raglan armhole shaping – 54(56-64-70-76-82) sts.
Shape Raglan Armholes:  Bind off 2(2-4-5-5-7) sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 50(52-56-60-66-68) sts.
Note: Please read through this entire section before starting to knit.
Dec Row 1 (RS):  K5, k3 tog, k15(16-18-20-23-24), k2 tog (neck dec);  join another ball of MC and SSK (neck dec), k15(16-18-20-23-24), sl 1. K2 tog, psso, k5 – 22(23-25-27-30-31) sts each side.  Working both sides at once and working decs in this manner, continue to dec 2 sts at each armhole edge and 1 st at each neck edge  every RS row 2(2-0-1-2-2) times more, end on WS – 16(17-25-24-24-25) sts.
Dec Row 2 (RS):  K5, k2 tog, k to last 2 sts of left side, k2 tog;  on right side, SSK, k to last 7 sts, SSK, k5 – 14(15-23-22-22-23) sts.  Continue in this manner to dec 1 st at each armhole edge every RS row 7(8-12-12-12-12) times more and AT THE SAME TIME, dec 1 st at each neck edge every RS row 5(4-8-6-6-8) times more, then every other RS row 1(2-2-3-3-2) times, end on WS.  When all decs have been completed. Fasten off last st each side.

RIGHT SLEEVE
With smallest needles and MC, cast on 54(54-54-58-58-58) sts.
Row 1: * K1, p1, repeat from * across.  Rep this row until piece measures 17” from beg, end on WS.  Purl 1 row, dec 10(10-6-8-4-0) sts evenly across row – 44(44-48-50-54-58) sts.  Knit 2 rows, purl 1 row.  Work even in St st until piece measures 18” from beg, end on WS.
Shape Sleeve Cap:  Bind off 2(2-4-5-5-7) sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 40(40-40-40-44-44) sts. Work even for 2 rows.
Dec Row 1 (RS):  K2, k2 tog, k to last 4 sts, SSK, k2 - 38(38-38-38-42-42) sts. Rep this dec every RS row 8(7-5-4-7-7) times more, then every other RS row 1(2-4-5-4-4) times, end on WS - 16 sts.
Dec Row 2 (RS):  Bind off 2 sts, k to last 5 sts, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, k2 – 12 sts. Rep this dec row every other RS row 1 time more – 8 sts.  Purl 1 row. Bind off all sts

LEFT SLEEVE
Work same as for right sleeve, reversing sleeve cap shaping.

FINISHING
Steam pieces with hot steam iron and a pressing cloth. Sew raglan sleeve caps to raglan armholes. Sew side and sleeve seams.
Neckband: With RS facing, using circular needle and MC, beg at left back raglan seam, pick up and k38(38-38-42-46-46) sts across top of left sleeve and along left front neck edge, place marker, pick up and k2 sts, place marker, pick up and k38(38-38-42-46-46) sts along right front neck edge and across top of right sleeve, pick up and k18(22-26-26-26-26) sts along back neck edge – 96(100-104-112-120-120) sts. Mark with different colored marker for beg of rnd and carry all markers up.
Dec Rnd: Work in k2, p2 ribbing to 2 sts before 1st marker, SSK, sl marker, p2, sl marker, k2 tog, work in k2, p2 ribbing to end – 94(98-102-110-118-118) sts.  Continue in this manner to dec 2 sts every other rnd, working decs into ribbing until neckband measures 1” from beg. Dropping all markers, bind off all sts.
Embroidery:  Using 2 strands of C held tog, work duplicate st embroidery up center 6 sts of front as in photo.  Repeat for back of sweater.  On right sleeve, 5” up from lower edge, work vertical straight sts ½” long 1½” apart around sleeve.  With 2 strands of B held tog, work 3 zigzag sts as in photo on left front just before start of armhole shaping.  Repeat on right side of back.  With 2 strands of D held tog, work a row of duplicate sts 1” apart at top of lower ribbing on each side of B sts.  Work 2 rows of duplicate sts along right armhole as in photo.  Work overcast sts along lower edge of left sleeve.

SCARF
With size 10 1/2 needles, using A, cast on 36 sts.
Row 1 (WS): K1, p1, * k2, p1, rep from * to last st, end k1.
Row 2: P1, k1, * p2, k1, rep from * to last st, end p1. Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 15” from beg, end on WS.  Change to MC and rep Rows 1 and 2 until piece measures 36” from beg, end on WS. Change to size 11 needles and knit 1 row, dec 4 sts evenly spaced across row – 32 sts remain. Work in St st until piece measures 51” from beg, end on WS.
Divide for Fringe Sections:
Section 1: Next Row (RS): K11, place remaining sts on holder. Work in St st for 15”, end on WS. K5, place remaining sts on second holder. Work in St st for 18”. Bind off all sts. Rejoin yarn and work across 6 sts from second holder. Work in St st for 3”. Bind off all sts.
Section 2: Next Row (RS): Rejoin yarn and work across 10 sts from first holder. Work in St st for 12”, end on WS. K5, place remaining sts on second holder. Work in St st for 6”. Bind off all sts. Rejoin yarn and work across 5 sts from second holder. Work in St st for 7” Bind off all sts.
Section 3: Next Row (RS): Rejoin yarn and work across remaining sts from first holder. Work in St st for 17”, end on WS. K5, place remaining sts on holder. Work in St st for 7”. Bind off all sts. Rejoin yarn and work across 6 sts from holder. Work in St st for 9”. Bind off all sts.
Embroidery:  Using 2 strands of B held tog, whip st sections 1 and 2 as shown in photo.
