FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Approximately 11” high x 8” wide (across arms)
MATERIALS 1 Ball BERROCO COMFORT SOCK (100 grs), #1813 Southland 1 Set (4) double pointed knitting needles (dpn), size 3 (3.00 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE 1 St marker Tapestry needle Small amount polyester stuffing 1/2 Yd 3/4” wide grosgrain ribbon GAUGE30 sts = 4”; 40 rows = 4” in St st TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE BODYWith dpn’s, cast on 60 sts. Divide sts evenly onto 3 needles (20 sts on each needle) and join, being careful not to twists sts. Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up.Work even in St st (k EVERY rnd) for 3 1/2”. Shape Shoulders and Neck: Dec Rnd 1: * K4, k2 tog, rep from * around – 50 sts. Knit 2 rnds. Dec Rnd 2: * K3, k2 tog, rep from * around – 40 sts. Knit 2 rnds. Dec Rnd 3: * K2, k2 tog, rep from * around – 30 sts. Knit 2 rnds. Dec Rnd 4: * K1, k2 tog, rep from * around – 20 sts. Knit 2 rnds. Shape Head: Inc Rnd 1: * K2, M1k, rep from * around – 30 sts. Knit 2 rnds. Inc Rnd 2: * K3, M1k, rep from * around – 40 sts. Knit 16 rnds. Dec Rnd 1: * K2, k2 tog, rep from * around – 30 sts. Knit 2 rnds. Dec Rnd 2: * K1, k2 tog, rep from * around – 20 sts. Knit 2 rnds. Dec Rnd 3: * K2 tog, rep from * around – 10 sts. Knit 2 rnds. Dec Rnd 4: Rep Dec Rnd 3 – 5 sts. Break off yarn leaving a 6” long end. Thread end into tapestry needle and draw through all sts on needles. Pull up tightly and secure. Fasten off.
LEGS (Make 2) With dpn’s, cast on 24 sts. Divide sts evenly on 3 dpn’s (8 sts on each needle) and join, being careful not to twist sts. Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Work even in St st for 3 1/2”. Shape Foot: Dec Rnd 1: * K2, k2 tog, rep from * around – 18 sts. Knit 2 rnds. Dec Rnd 2: * K1, k2 tog, rep from * around – 12 sts. Knit 2 rnds. Dec Rnd 3: * K2 tog, rep from * around – 6 sts. Break off yarn leaving a 6” long end. Thread end into tapestry needle and draw through all sts on needles. Pull up tightly and secure. Fasten off. ARMS (Make 2)With dpn’s, cast on 18 sts. Divide sts evenly on 3 dpn’s (6 sts on each needle) and join, being careful not to twist sts. Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. Work even in St st for 2 1/4”.Shape Hand: Dec Rnd 1: * K1, k2 tog, rep from * around – 12 sts. Knit 2 rnds. Dec Rnd 2: * K2 tog, rep from * around – 6 sts. Complete same as legs. FINISHINGStuff body and head firmly with polyester stuffing. Flatten out cast-on edge and sew tog. Stuff each leg firmly and sew cast-on edges to sewn edge of body as in photo. Stuff each arm firmly and sew cast-on edges to sides of body at first dec row. Tie ribbon around neck as in photo.
