20(22-25-28-31) Hanks BERROCO GLACE (50 grs), #2517 Cola

Straight knitting needles, size 10 1/2 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

GAUGE

12 sts = 4”;  16 rows = 4” in Pat St with 2 strands of yarn held tog on size 10 1/2 needles

NOTE 1

2 Strands of yarn are worked tog throughout.

NOTE 2

When decreasing while working this pat st, make sure to balance each k2 tog with a yo.  Balance each sl 1, k2 tog, psso with 2 yo’s.  If there are not enough sts to work an entire repeat, work the extra sts in St st.

PATTERN STITCH (Multiple of 4 sts + 3)

Row 1 (RS):  K2, * yo, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, yo, k1, rep from * to last st, end k1.

Row 2:  Purl.

Row 3:  K1, k2 tog, yo, k1, * yo, sl 1, k2 tog, psso, yo, k1, rep from * to last 3 sts, end yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k1.

Row 4:  Purl.

Rep these 4 rows for Pat St.

BACK

With straight needles, using 2 strands of yarn held tog, cast on 59(63-71-75-83) sts.  Work even in Pat St for 17”, end on WS.

Shape Armholes:  Bind off 3(3-4-5-6) sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 53(57-63-65-71) sts.  Dec 1 st each side every RS row 5(6-7-7-8) times – 43(45-49-51-55) sts.  Work even until armholes measure 8(8-8 1/2-9-9 1/2)”, end on WS.  Bind off.

LEFT FRONT

With straight needles, using 2 strands of yarn held tog, cast on 27(31-35-39-43) sts.  Work even in Pat St for 17”, end on WS.

Shape Armhole:  Bind off 3(3-4-5-6) sts at beg of the next row – 24(28-31-34-37) sts.  Work 1 row even.  Dec 1 st at armhole edge every RS row 5(6-7-7-8) times – 19(22-24-27-29) sts.  Work even until armhole measures 8(8-8 1/2-9-9 1/2)”, end on WS.  Mark end of last row for beg of collar.  Work even until piece measures 7(7 1/2-8-8 1/2-9)” above marker, end on WS.  Bind off 4(4-5-5-6) sts at beg of the next 4 RS rows, then 3(6-4-7-5) sts at beg of the last RS row.

RIGHT FRONT

Work to correspond to left front, reversing all shaping.  Bind off at end of collar at beg of WS rows.

SLEEVES

With straight needles, using 2 strands of yarn held tog, cast on 39(39-43-47-51) sts.  Work even in Pat St for 18”, end on WS.

Shape Cap:  Bind off 3(3-4-5-6) sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 33(33-35-37-39) sts.  Dec 1 st each side every RS row 13(13-14-15-16) times, end on WS.  Bind off remaining 7 sts.

FINISHING

With WS tog, sew bound-off edges of left and right front collars tog.  Sew side edge of collar between markers to bound-off edge of back with seam at center back.  Sew in sleeves.  Sew side and sleeve seams.
