FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Approximately 7 1/2” wide x 68” long (before steaming)

 

MATERIALS

5 Balls BERROCO PURE MERINO DK (50 grs), #4525 Coulis

Straight knitting needles, size 5 (3.75 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

 

GAUGE

21 sts = 4”;  48 rows = 4” in Garter St

TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE

 

 

 

NOTE

When working the first repeat of Wedge Pat, pat starts at left edge of scarf.  On the second repeat, Wedge Pat starts on right edge of scarf.  This alternates with wedges starting on opposite sides throughout scarf as in photo.

 

SCARF

Note:  Wedge Pat is formed by short rows where you work part way across a row, turn and work back.  The holes caused by turning are part of the pattern.

With straight needles, cast on 40 sts.  * Knit 13 rows.

Wedge Pat:  Rows 1 and 2:  (Yo, p2 tog) 15 times, turn.

Rows 3 and 4:  (Yo, p2 tog) 13 times, turn.

Rows 5 and 6:  (Yo, p2 tog) 11 times, turn.

Rows 7 and 8:  (Yo, p2 tog) 9 times, turn.

Rows 9 and 10:  (Yo, p2 tog) 7 times, turn.

Rows 11 and 12:  (Yo, p2 tog) 5 times, turn.

Rows 13 and 14:  (Yo, p2 tog) 3 times, turn.

Repeat from * until piece measures approximately 67” from beg, end on Row 14.  Knit 12 rows.  Bind off.
