MATERIALS
BERROCO AIR (50 grs), 7(7-8-8-9-10-11) balls #3145 Karma.
Straight knitting needles, sizes 10 1/2 and 11 OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
2 Double pointed knitting needles (dpn), size 10.
29” Length circular knitting needle, size 10 1/2.
Cable needle (cn).
4 St markers.

GAUGE
13 sts = 4”;  19 rows = 4” in St st on size 11 needles.
18 sts = 3 1/2”;  19 rows = 4” in Cable Pat on size 11 needles.
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.
Note:  BOTH st and row gauge are extremely important when working this garment.

NOTE
Due to the nature of the Cable Pat, the number of sts on your needle will vary from row to row.  The number shown at the end of each row in Cable Pattern is the number of sts you will have after working that row.

CABLE PATTERN (Worked over 18 sts)
Rows 1, 3, 5 and 7 (RS):
  P2, k3, p8, k3, p2 – 18 sts.
Row 2 and all WS rows:  K the k sts and p the p sts as they face you.
Row 9:  P2, k2, SSK, p6, k2 tog, k2, p2 – 16 sts.
Row 11:  P2, k2, SSK, p4, k2 tog, k2, p2 – 14 sts.
Row 13:  P2, k2, SSK, p2, k2 tog, k2, p2 – 12 sts.
Row 15:  P2, k2, SSK, k2 tog, k2, p2 – 10 sts.
Row 17:  P2, k6, p2 – 10 sts.
Row 19:  P2, sl 3 sts to cn and hold in FRONT, k3, k3 from cn, p2 – 10 sts.
Rows 21 and 23:  Rep Row 17 – 10 sts.
Row 25:  P2, k3, (M1p) twice, k3, p2 – 12 sts.
Row 27:  P2, k3, M1p, p2, M1p, k3, p2 – 14 sts.
Row 29:  P2, k3, M1p, p4, M1p, k3, p2 – 16 sts.
Row 31:  P2, k3, M1p, p6, M1p, k3, p2 – 18 sts.
Row 32:  Rep Row 2.
Rep these 32 rows for Cable Pat.

BACK 
With smaller straight needles, cast on 70(70-74-78-86-90-98) sts.
Row 1 (RS):  K2, * p2, k2 rep from * across.
Row 2:  P2, * k2, p2, rep from * across.  Rep these 2 rows until piece measures 2½” from beg, end on WS, dec 1(0-0-0-1-0-1) st at each end of last row – 68(70-74-78-84-90-96) sts.  Change to larger straight needles.
Establish Cable Pat:  Row 1 (RS):  K11(12-13-15-18-20-23), place marker, work Row 1 of Cable Pat over 18 sts, place marker, k10(10-12-12-12-14-14), place marker, work Row 1 of Cable Pat over 18 sts, place marker, k11(12-13-15-18-20-23).
Row 2:  P to 1st marker, work Row 2 of Cable Pat to next marker, p to next marker, work Row 2 of Cable Pat to last marker, p to end.  Work even in pat as established until piece measures 13½” from beg, end on Row 20 of Cable Pat – 52(54-58-62-68-74-80) sts.  Note:  At this point, you will have 10 sts on each Cable Pat section.
Shape Armholes:  Bind off 3(3-4-4-6-6-7) sts at beg of the next 2 rows – 46(48-50-54-56-62-66) sts.  Work even until armholes measure 9”, end on Row 32 of Cable Pat – 62(64-66-70-72-78-82) sts.  Bind off all sts for shoulders and back neck.

LEFT FRONT
With smaller straight needles, cast on 50(54-54-58-62-62-66) sts.  Work in ribbing same as for back for 2½”, end on WS, dec 0(1-0-1-1-0-0) st at each end of last row – 50(52-54-56-60-62-66) sts.  Change to larger straight needles.
Establish Cable Pat:  Row 1 (RS):  K11(12-13-15-18-20-23), place marker, work Row 1 of Cable Pat over 18 sts, place marker, k21(22-23-23-24-24-25).
Row 2:  P to 1st marker, work Row 2 of Cable Pat to next marker, p to end.  Working in pat as established, dec for neck as follows:
Shape Neck:  Dec Row (RS):  Work to last 2 sts, k2 tog – 49(51-53-55-59-61-65) sts.  Rep this dec every RS row 25(25-27-27-25-25-27) times more, then every other RS row 8(8-7-7-8-8-7) times.  AT THE SAME TIME, when piece measures 13 1/2” from beg, end on Row 20 of Cable Pat.
Shape Armhole:  Bind off 3(3-4-4-6-6-7) sts at beg of the next row, work to end.  When all decs have been completed, work even until armhole measures 9”, end on Row 32 of Cable Pat – 13(15-15-17-20-22-24) sts.  Bind off all sts for shoulder.

RIGHT FRONT
Work to correspond to left front until piece measures 2 1/2” from beg, end on WS, decreasing 0(1-0-1-1-0-0) st at each end of last row – 50(52-54-56-60-62-66) sts.
Establish Cable Pat:  Row 1 (RS):  K21(22-23-23-24-24-25), place marker, work Row 1 of Cable Pat over 18 sts, place marker, k11(12-13-15-18-20-23).
Row 2:  P to 1st marker, work Row 2 of Cable Pat to next marker, p to end.  Complete to correspond to left front, working neck decs as SSK at beg of RS rows and binding off for armhole on WS row.

FINISHING
Steam pieces with hot steam iron and a pressing cloth.  Sew shoulder seams, matching cables.  Sew side seams.
Collar:  With RS facing, using circular needle, loosely cast on 226 sts.  Work in ribbing same as for back for 4 rows.  Bind off 5 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, 4 sts at beg of the next 2 rows, 2 sts at beg of the next 16 rows, 3 sts at beg of the next 6 rows, 4 sts at beg of the next 4 rows, then 5 sts at beg of the next 10 rows.  Bind off remaining 92 sts.  Mark center of bound-off edge of collar and pin to center back neck.  Pin bound-off edge of collar around entire neck edge to top of ribbing on fronts.  Sew collar in place.
Ties (Make 2):  With dpn’s, cast on 3 sts and work I-Cord as follows:
Row 1 (RS):  * K3, do not turn work.  Slide sts to beg of needle to work next row from RS.  Rep from * until tie measures 70” or desired length.  Fasten off.  Sew one end of 1st tie to top of ribbing on right front edge and one end of 2nd tie to top of ribbing on left front edge.  Knot ends of ties.
