MATERIALS

1 Hank BERROCO ULTRA ALPACA FINE (100 grs), #1207 Salt & Pepper

1 Set (4) double pointed knitting needles (dpn), size 4 (3.40 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

1 St marker

GAUGE

34 sts = 4”;  46 rows = 4” in Pat St slightly stretched

TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE

PATTERN STITCH (Multiple of 4 sts)

Rnd 1:  * SSK, yo, p2, rep from * around.

Rnd 2:  * Yo, k2tog, p2, rep from * around.

Rep these 2 rnds for Pat St.

GAUNTLET (Make 2)
With dpn’s, cast on 60 sts.  Divide sts evenly onto 3 needles (20 sts per needle).  Join, being careful not to twist sts.  Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up.  Work in k2, p2 ribbing for 1 rnd, then work even in Pat St until piece measures 5” from beg.

Thumb Opening:  Next Rnd:  Work 12 sts in Pat St, bind off 8 sts, work in Pat St to end.

Following Rnd:  Work in Pat St, cast on 8 sts over sts bound off on previous rnd.  Work even until piece measures 6 1/2” from beg.  Bind off loosely in k2, p2 ribbing.
