Dear Subscribers,

Today we will spotlight one of our new yarns for Fall. Air™ is a wooly blend that is spun for superior lightness. Berroco Air YarnsThe soft dye effect is subtly striped, giving the knitted item a fulled effect. It is available in 6 beautiful shades. Spun from wool injected through a diaphanous nylon netting, this hybrid spinning technique produces the touch of pure wool in a yarn that knits to 3.5 stitches to the inch on a #11 needle with an amazing 115 yards in a 50 gram ball. You can knit a size small woman’s cardigan with 8 balls. It’s a great yarn for the cost conscious knitter. For a “soft focus” appeal in a light as air yarn, look for Air at your local yarn shop.

BEGINNER'S Q & A

Gina from Tempe wrote, “I am a fan of Berroco yarn and I wear a woman’s size 16. I want to knit something for fall to wear outside. I still like the look of a poncho, but I can’t wear a shoulder bag with a poncho. Do you have any suggestions?"

Yes, Gina we have a couple of ponchos with sleeves in Book #237 COLD COMFORTS. Columbia, knit in Foliage™, and Holyoke, knit in Suede™, are two of my favorites. I am delighted that the poncho trend has evolved to more sophisticated pieces and outerwear cover-ups that you can wear with a shoulder bag.

All the best,
