A humanitarian and educational people-to-people project that sends handknit and crocheted blankets, sweaters, vests, hats, mittens and socks to the beleaguered people of Afghanistan.
An all volunteer, national, non-profit organization that makes and distributes homemade blankets to children born HIV+, drug-addicted, infected with AIDS or other chronic & terminal illnesses, those who are abused, in foster care or experiencing trauma of any kind. Our recipients are from 0-18.
Knitted Knockers provides knitted prosthetic breasts for mastectomy patients. Sounds silly, doesn't it? Yet, when placed in a bra, these knitted breasts take the shape and feel of a real breast. They are lighter and more comfortable than silicone prosthetic breasts. The knitted fabric breathes and prevents the heat rash experienced by many women wearing the silicone ones.
With over 300 chapters in the United States, our organization supplies blankets to children in need who are seriously ill or traumatized in some way. In other words, children in need of a big hug.
Stitch Red is a national heart disease awareness campaign supported by the needlearts industry. The campaign aims to draw attention to heart disease - the #1 killer of women in the United States. This organization also helps people understand their risk factors for the disease and encourages the adoption of healthier lifestyles to protect their heart health.
Stitches From The Heart has a simple mission: to provide comfort, love and support to each newborn and their family coast-to-coast - regardless of economic or religious background. Through meet-up groups, hospital donations and outreach programs, this local, non-profit organization is changing the lives of its recipients with woven products and passionate volunteers.
Warm Up America distributes warm afghans, caps and other items to tens of thousands of people, thanks to the generosity of knitters and crocheters around the country.
