Shoal is a gorgeous crocheted variation on traditional Shetland Hap shawls which have a plain central panel and gracefully waving lace edges. Crocheted in oceanic shades of Berroco Ultra Alpaca Fine, this shawl can be worn as a luxurious wrap or used as a small lap throw.

4 Hanks Berroco Ultra Alpaca Fine (100 grs), #1288 Blueberry Mix (MC) and 2 hanks each #1285 Oceanic Mix (A), #1277 Peat Mix (B) and #1294 Turquoise Mix (C)

Crochet hook, size 3.25 mm (D-3) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Row 2:  Ch 2, * sc in ch-1 space, ch 1, rep from * across.  Turn.  Rep Row 2 198 times more.  Turn.  Change to C.

Rnd 1:  With C, ch 4 (counts as 1 dc and ch-1), skip ch-1 space, * (dc in next sc, ch 1, skip ch-1 space) 3 times, skip next ch-1 space, dec A, ch 1, skip ch-1 space, (dc in next sc, ch 1, skip ch-1 space) 3 times, Inc, rep from * to corner, dc, ch 3, Inc in corner st, rep from * around, working in every other row each side, end dc in last row, ch 3, join with a sl st in top of beg ch-4.
